Been targeted by Nurgle to be recipient of some horrific virus or other so no progress on my beautiful hexies, but I did have time to find and paint a shield for my vamp:

Thanks again @Lord Coenraad Vonn Forongkry

Anyways, update time:

Hexwraiths are done, I'm just wondering whether or not to add some cotton wool most effect on the bases. This is them currently:

As always C&C is welcome. What are everyone's thoughts on the mist effect, yay or nay?

Just need 10 more skellies to finish my first 500pts so I'll see if I can get some soon (unfortunately my daughter ran up a huge phone bill so the warhammer budget took a hit) after that I'll do a group shot for y'all.

Cheers
Alastor

Fair point, I imagine it's gonna be pretty annoying to replace when it gets all gunked up too. I just feel the models look a bit "flat" on their own. Being made of various shades of green..

I've taken to painting the metal, wood, and sometimes leather of my Ghosts, but leaving cloth and body Ethereal. Gives them some depth, and I think it's cool seeing ghosts wielding tangible weapons. Might be worth a test model or two for you.

I am really enjoying watching your progress. That converted vampire looks great. The necromancer is pretty awesome as well. I like the roughness to his cloak, makes him look quite bedraggled, as a necromancer should!

I haven't used cotton wool mist myself yet, but I think it looks pretty great in the pictures I've seen. I say, why not try it, and if you don't like it you can always take it off.

Side note: the four horsemen of the apocalypse page is one of the most interesting I've read on wikipedia. Can't say I remember much of it, but if you used all the different versions artists have described over the years you'd have a very large unit. Keep up the great work!

Just a quick update on my progress. This is my first 500 points of fully painted and ready to roll undead monstrosities. Slow progress but I'll be able to stop using proxies in my games soon enough (space marine bikes as dire wolves does detract from the theme somewhat). I shall be aiming to get some wolves or some Grave Guard next.

Yeah the Hexwraiths are fun to paint.. I'm going back to them soon to touch up with some dull metal tones to offset the ethereal green.

Thanks mate.
