What do you guys think can this be competitive? the characters can basically go anywhere and everything except the blood knights and the Hexwraiths raise at 5 per casting of invocation.

The two baby blender vamps can be responsible for casting all the chaff and maybe even summon a terrorgheist but that might be pushing it :perv:.

Now just to go and buy all the TK horses...

I really like this list. Fast moving and hard hitting. Now go get all those undead my little ponies and post some pics!

Start High Elves? Haha you are so funny.

Looks o.k. not sure how competitive it is though... There are basically 4 targets in this army (2x hexwraiths, blood knights and characters) and little staying power outside what you can magic back. You don't have the magic boosting tools we get now so not even sure if you will dominate magic at all.

Realistically only the blood knights and characters are real threats I would say. I would like to see some wolves and at least for more drops and early redirecting if needed. Will have to see how lore of undeath pans out in a game against this list but I have a feeling you will struggle against other chaff heavy lists.

Yeah I agree that i wont necessarily dominate the magic phase, but then again with pure VC I've never really done that either and still managed to do alright.

I would like some dogs but that kinda takes away from the whole cavalry thing:sick: what i could change, is make the horse archers five smaller 5 man units and max out on that giving me loads of banners for blood and glory and also more than enough chaff problem then being that they stop being a semi effective road block or semi effective chaff killers and just turn into expensive chaff themselves.

Was thinking of sticking the characters into the Light cavalry instead of the blood knights, depending on the amount of shooting in the opposing army, reckon 20, 4+ saves are as good as 10, 2+ saves o.o.
The black knights with the banner of swiftness could always host one or two of the vampires as well and they aren't the worst unit around especially when they can possible get re-roll to hit and wound.
But the list sort off runs on the assumption that Lore of Undeath is a viable option on two lvl 2 vamps to create chaff and dictate the combats that get fought.
The other big problem is that the list doesn't really work with 2500 pts :frown:.

The only thing i miss is some shouting goodness...:innocent:

I would break up the scouts into smaller five man units. How do you feel about chariots? I believe you'd do much better having a few of them in the list.
How important is the theme for you? I would consider some...shouting goodness as well, hehe.
Do the Black Knights have lances?

The theme is important but then again to actually buy all the tk horses, skely and GG parts to make them fit with the VC will probably not be worthwhile.

So was thinking to take the light cav dump a few horse archer to fit in 4 units of 5 dogs and take the rest of the core in 5 man horse archer units with banners.

The lances on the black knights was an oversight on the above list but yes they should have lance's.

Not to keen on chariots they never really impressed me in any games I've had against TK, but might be worth looking into.

Chariots can surprise people. A unit of three or four is nasty against ASF elves. You may not want to include the however as the rest of your army will leave them in the dust and they do have a large footprint. Try proxying them if possible

I think the biggest problem with UL playing all cav is that we can not flee. Your archers will get pushed back by a good general and destroyed quite easily. Compare this list to an all cav dark elf list or its toughness to a highly mobile WoC and you will see where it lacks.

Things to consider:
How will you beat Skaven?
How will you beat Wood elves in a Blood & Glory mission?
How will you beat the Throgg and skullcrushers list?
How will you beat Nurgle DoC?
How will you beat Dark Elves? (I see there is a guy with a Witch horde, Corsair horde and multiple monsters)

Obviously I can be talking rubbish. Maybe you should try this against my Lizzies? We can then see if it needs improvement.

You clearly still havent witnessed the full bleding "Powwer!!" (Jeremy Clarkson voice) of the vamps.

But jokes aside the list shouldn't have to much trouble with the skaven and just change the banner of swiftness to flaming for regen killing.

Scullcrushers might be an issue but the vamps should be able to take them. Wood elves might be a problem but then again with so many fast moving targets i should get to him before he can finish most of the units.

There are 9 fortitude in the list so he can have the horse archers and as 5 man units they are just chaff anyway.

DoC nurgle wil be same game plan as always just charge in and roll the dice. The list isnt very sublte lol.

Dark elves might be an issue same as al elves hence the nightshroud instead of the ogre blade on my lord, killing 5-10 wyches first and 2 up armour on the blood knights should keep them safe for long enough hopefully.

Im up for a game but would need to proxy heavely as i dont own any Tk horse archers.

No I have seen some proper blending. My last game I had 2 vamps in black knights killing: Chariot, Gorebeast chariot, 4 skullcrushers, Mutalith, 3rd eye bsb, 18 nurgle halberd warriors and a nurgle DP. Though, I was able to dominate movement and control when and where I was in combat completely with my zombies and spirit hosts. Something I struggle to see this list do. You are the resident VC guy though so I will trust your judgement.

While im leaning towards agreeing with you. The wolves and horse archers are intended for that, as well as the two baby vamps with lore of undeath for all the spirit host that are needed.

The crux of the matter is probably determining if two lvl 2 lore of undeath wizards are able to perform that task.

Im maybe partial though as i really want it to be able to work. :)

The problem is that they don't have staying power. Only a test match against a lvl 4 caster will determine if the lvl 2's are enough.

Got my own lvl 4 vampire lore as well though, so even if they stop all the summoning, I should then get my vanhels and invocation off. Could always switch it for lvl 4 undeath 2xlvl2 vamp lore but then might risk not getting the invocations off but will have to play test.

I'm also for splitting the core units into smaller blocks (5s). I can't see any of them doing that much damage or being that survivable at 10-men so why bother? Smaller units give you more utility. Have you considered Vargs or TG? They aren't mounted but are fast and can keep pace with the other units whilst bringing something else to the table.
