Alternate Vampire Model (Avatars of War)

I found this very nice 'Dark Elf' from Avatars of War, (who do a lot of very nice miniatures) and I was wondering what people though of it as a vampire.

Painted up with blood red armour I think it would look very vampiric, but im not sure, and at $30 aus (with postage from Spain) I wanted a second opinion. It looks of GW style (which im told is because the sculptor is ex-gw) and I think I could get away with it in a GW run tourny, but im worried it would look too obviously dark elf. So what do people think?

Almost anything can be made into a vampire with a proper paint job. That being said, what you have to worry about is will he fit in with the rest of your army, theme wise.

I got my vampires long before I started buying my core units. To be honest it was one of these models that made me go "I need to start a vampire counts army just so I can field this bad boy." I realized that as I bought boxes and bits that the conversions I was doing to my army was heavily influenced by my vampires. So without knowing it I got set on a human empire type undead army, when initially I planned on having an undead undivided type army where all the different races in Warhammer would make an appearance.

I do love the avatar of war sculpts. I would go out of my way to fit a couple into my army, I will be picking up the dire wolves to use as doom wolves and Ill pick up the necromancer when its released to use as a, well, necromancer.

The Dark Elf hero would make a good vampire, but I would replace the sword with something less elfish. The cloak is also something that could need a retouch with green stuff. And I think the head should be replaced.

not sure about the lord but i do plan to use the sorceress

and ill make her fit into my army because my theme is conquered armies so i will have so many undead Dark Elves to accompany her just like i have undead Bret and Empire characters to go with the converted Grave Guard and Black Knights

I've heard some complaints about the face on the sorceress, but exept for that it'd make a great vampiress.

i know ive heard complaints as well. but whats the actual problem with it? is it to much like GW and they make an arse of it so its like a trianglular head thats what it looks like anyway

Is this for all Avatars of War models or just the sorceress?

I believe it is just the sorceress which people have had complaints about, regarding it's face.
