Sorry if this has been answered, I did a search and didn't find an answer. Does a Necromancer suffer from unstable? Either as a standalone or in a unit? Necros aren't vampiric, and they're technically undead, so I don't see why they wouldn't, other than it not really making sense lore-wise.

Unstable is a sub-rule of the Undead -special rule. So all undead are also Unstable unless otherwise noted.

I know... It just seems stupid to me on a logical level. Why would one of the guys who's holding the army together magically be hurt by the magic being interrupted? Is he holding himself together too? But that's how we've been playing it anyways. Just wanted to make sure.

The old rules were different, vampire etc were not unstable but took leadership.
If a unit of 4 guys with a vampire in lost by 6 you would lose the 3 guys and take a leadership at -3.
Now you see people crumble to dead just from ranks for no reason at all that makes sense in lore or game, its a huge point of irritation for many a VC player right up there alongside bloodlines.
