Hi, It's my first post, tho I've been lurking for a few weeks. Great community by the way.
I've searched but couldn't find this for the current edition.
Obviously the question is, Can vampires wear armor(magical or mundane) and cast spells?

Great! :)
Although, a proper quotation of the rule(or the lack of it :) ) would be great, couse it will end the quite flamy debate at my local gaming club.

I actually don't own a BRB, so I'll haveta find the accompanying rule in the VC book, if it's there. I simply know we can, so I've never questioned it. *goes to look*

The reason you are getting confused is that you are working on the 6th edition rules. Check the full 7th edition Rulebook. Nowhere does it state that you cannot wear armour and cast magic, so there is no explicit rule stating that you can cast magic whilst wearing armour.

The only rule that you have to pay attention to now, it that you can only take armour if you have access to the mundane equivalent. Vampires do have access through their bloodline powers, so they are all fine to use mundane and magical armour and go on a casting frenzy.

Let me put it this way:

Why on gods green earth would Count Mannfred wear a heavy armor if he wasnt allowed to cast spells while wearing it?

The answer is obvious when you look at some characters like Mannfred

I'm still a bit confused about when you can take Magic armour.

If I try to give a Vampire the Flayed Hauberk, Army Builder is quite happy. However, I can only give a Vampire an Enchanted Shield if I also take Avatar of Death (with Shield).

I thought that it was only the ABILITY to take mundane armour/shield that counted and you weren't actually forced to buy the mundane piece as well as the magical upgrade. Is this a bug in Army Builder or am I missing something?

Thanks

John

Never trust army builder! It's perfectly legel. A mind-paper-pen/pencil is way beter that any army builder program.....xD

Thank you all for your answers. The problem was really the 6th edition rules. We have a few 6th edition players who started playing again after a long time. And they sometimes come up with these absolete rules.
