Army 'Tiers'

i've been having a look on some of the other warhammer websites, fansites and competition sites and all seem to follow a general rule of thumb.

High-tier
Daemons
Vampire Counts
Dark Elves

Mid-tier
Lizardmen
Warriors of Chaos
High Elves
Dwarves
Wood Elves
Bretonnia
Skaven
The Empire

Low-tier
Orcs and Goblins
Tomb Kings
Ogre Kingdoms
Beasts of Chaos

would any of you agree with this. since we are all vampire lovers here, please explain to me why you think vampires are classed as a high tier army.

from my personal limited experience of playing VC, i fail to see why people would have such a problem with VC except the very cheesiest of chesse armies.
i have seen many people say it is because our army book is broken. but except the drakonhof banner and MAYBE blood knights, i fail to see where the 'broken' part of our army is. again, please tell me where you might think our army book is broken.

I also wonder what the big fuss is about.
And I really don't understand how Blood Knights can be good. 55 points and they only got a single wound. Nothing in 40K whould cost 55 points and only have 1 wound, right?

Why? Because those 55 point models can be revived. They hit like a lawnmower on an acid trip and lined with Orky spikes. They can arguably take anything they can hit first on the charge fully ranked up, waiting, and enjoy doing so.
They're good, yes. But the reason Vampires are up there in the top tier? The abused builds.

Re-raising. Simple enough. we get our troops back, and spamming Necromancy spells is quite powerful.

So, with well abused builds, re-castable magic, and some very, very heavy hitters....We're in the top 3 because no matter what army you play, you have to play it -differently- against us. We don't run. We can't be counted on to stay dead. We ignore a lot of the tactics that most living generals have to employ. This is why Vampires are so good, -if abused-. If hey're not taken simply to win, and fluffed, etc...They are a remarkably fun army to play.

I'd recommend ditching this 'Tier' idea. It's essentially, in my eyes, a way for players to reason out why they lost to an army they didn't lose to before.

Agreed, Daemons are unarguably a strong army, but are they Tier one? Are they the 'Best'? It all comes down to LEadership. The General. The guy/Girl playing with their toys. (DoN, that was for you.) An Army is only as good as it's leadership.

Tiers, in my eyes, are rubbish. ^_^

I quite like the tier system, It balanced it out in comp without subjecting you to the 'I can't beat this i'll give it a 0' which happens to vamps.

Although that tier system isn't quite right, tomb kings are mid tier, and the aus system actually has more tiers than that to make it fairer.

Oh and Vamps are probably the best army. Bar none. Sure demons are nasty, but they don't come back. That is people's biggest issues with vamps. Sure you can regen banner a GG bunker, or you can doggy-deathstar, or bunker the casty lord and never get touched, but seriously it is just additions. People call us broken because we don't die. We come back. It is insanely powerful on a 4+ to cast spell that you can spam forever. It could be balanced but it just isn't at the moment.

Oh and blood knights arn't the most broken rare, wraiths are. Then vargs, then blood knights. Frenzy is a huge weakness. Wraiths hit pretty damn hard and most armies only have a few things that can touch them, usually heroes. You avoid the heroes (which isn't hard since they skirmish) and you can eat a large portion of an army.

I think the problem is that the after the top tier is a pretty big gulf to the next armies in the middle.
