Hi everyone.

Im wanting to base my army with a Autumnal theme. I thinking about using wet looking flag stones, dark grass, mosses etc but I would also like a scattering of fallen leaves here and there. Does anyone have any ideas on how I might make them? I was thinking of simply using painted paper but I worry that might get a little fiddly. I have browsed the net for pre made leaves but they all see a little too big so any pointers would be appreciated. :zombie1:

Paper is still your friend, I reckon. Cut the paper diagonally into strips, then again to make small diamond shapes. Use a margarine tub or something similar to keep all your little leaves in, then when you put them on the base, apply a generous blob of PVA & dip it in the 'leaves', drop a bit of water on it & the leaves should merge into the PVA. Move them about a bit or prod them with a cocktail stick so they're thoroughly covered, then dip in leaves again. If you do it before you undercoat you shouldn't have a problem with white showing through from underneath & you can easily drybrush them.

I went fancy and bought myself this kit:

I've yet to receive it, ordered it this week.

It has everything you've mentionned.

Though you can buy just the scatter leaf separately elsewhere in the store.

I can recommend these: http://www.barrule.com/Workshop/scratch%20builders%20paradise/leaves,%20feuilles,%20blatter,%20fogli.html

They are english, so that should be easier for you than ordering from the US. Bought some maybe a year ago. :zombie1:

i second this suggestion - excellent service- their birch seed is perfect for autmnal bases

Skullcraft has very nice basing kits, though they are a bit expensive but at least they are so different from the usual GW themes. I would like to buy from skullcraft but I don't know how many minis you could cover with these kits.

These sound perfect and it looks like I could blend some yellows and greens with them too.

Thanks to everyone for the advice it's good to know that there are so many willing to help. Cheers.
