I'm trying to throw together a couple 500 point Battle March lists, partially in the hope of getting a slow gro campaign going at one of the local stores after the holidays, partially to try to have a couple small armies together for possible demo games, partially just to have some manageable painting targets. I'm not looking for anything particularly optimized here, just some small warhammer armies that look & play like small warhammer armies, good first impression stuff. Nothing fancy, so no arcane journal variants, & not relying on renegades options.
Battle March restrictions:
Tomb Kings Battle March, 500 points exactly
No Vampire in the Vampire Counts list is a flavor fail, but even thralls are awkward in 500 point battle march, especially without the Renegade rules. I could drop the fell bats to replace the wight lord BSB with a similarly equipped thrall BSB, but I doubt I'd ever run an infantry thrall BSB in any other context, so I don't really want to go through the effort of converting and painting one. Lack of a backline bunker for the necromancer is also a bit of a concern. Usually lone heroes can avoid trouble skirting around the edges, and they do have a 5++ from the hauberk if they have to duck into the grave guard or zombies to avoid trouble, so it's not that much of a concern, but I could drop the hauberk and fell bats for a small unit of skeletons or something?
I don't know, any thoughts or sugestions?
