Hi,

Next battle, I will confront the Glottkin. According to me, reading in a glance it's profile, it hasn't any magical attacks... so it isn't able to wound ethereals, even not with the "Nurgle's rot" rule. Is my assumption correct?

Has anyone already confronted that monstrosity?

I'm not sure on the magical attack thing but they are demons so it's likely they have all magic attacks.

The easiest way to deal with them is an initiative test on their 1 initiative. Otherwise a solid combat unit that's near the glottkin points should beat them. They really aren't that scary in cc

The Glottkin are not daemonic nor do they have magical weapons, however, one of them is a nurgle caster so if that lore has any combat spells I'd be wary of using ethereals.

Purple sun that thing into oblivion as Tobiothan suggested.

Luckily vampire counts are great at killing things. Any of the following units should do very well against it:
Blender vampire with ogre blade
crypt ghouls and horrors (poisoned attacks)
big block of zombies or skeletons (hold it up because it doesn't have many attacks)
blood knights (a unit of 5 can probably bring it down to about half wounds, depending on how many can fit in combat. If there's a blender vamp in there you can probably kill in on the charge with all those s7 attacks)
terrorgheist (the screams, not in combat. average roll of 7 will do 3 wounds to the glottkin if the bat is at full health with the potential to do up to 8 wounds!)

I don't think ethereal will do well against it because don't all glottkin have a hero riding on top of it with a magic weapon?

Will do. That hero is Otto Glott, and he adds D6 attacks. No magical attacks at all.

You just cast purple sun and erase him which is sad. Enjoy the battle because after the hype dies down he will be nothing more than a great shelf decorator.

Everything a demon does is magical. When a demon sneezes; its a magical sneeze. Ethereal is a bad choice.

The second best option would probably be screaming skull catapults, as they are flaming templates with D6 wounds.

If I were going to take it out with a unit, I'd go for a blender lord with a great weapon in a unit with flaming banner, but you'll need VDM for re-rolls against the stank of nurgle. Take a second mini-blender with great weapon to seal the deal. If you take a BK bus with lances and get the charge, thats a lot of flaming S6 attacks, might be able to take him down in one round.

Fortunately, Glottkin are not demons, but three puny mortals of Nurgle. When they sneeze, you can only wish them good health;)

Bad idea. They have Eye of the Gods, so they have to issue challenge, so no lots of flaming attacks but challenge with selected model - that is unable to beat their 12W(even blender with RF have slight chance to inflict such ammount of W - with S7 he will be wounding on 3+, so statisticaly, we end up with maybe 5-6 W at most, maybe few more if rolls will be lucky) and is forced to withstand potential of 10 S6attacks followed by S10 multi wound slap, and also S3 no save puke. Very likely, that your lord will not survive too long. All that you achieve is to tie them with unit and characters that are more coslty than them and your unit should be better used elsewhere. And to make more sauce - every champion, or character that you feed to them will increase their ward save, since they dont roll on the Eye of the gods table, but they have Aura of Chaos everytime they are forced to roll.
Purple Sun or eteral hero to keep them entertained is much more viable choice.

I'm surprised it's doesn't have the daemonic special rule... it's quite obviously a daemon lol. Unless it's a competitive game, don't build your list around purple sunning the glottkin. Your best bet is probably to tie it up.

They are not daemons. They are three brothers who have been mutated by chaos. The monster used to eat people which is why he grew so big

No magical attacks, but I believe he does a S1 attack to everything in base that's magical. So yes...you can just hold him up with ethereals. 5 hex wraiths should do it.

Also note that he isn't stubborn. So charging him in the flank with skeletons, challenging, then hoping he whiffs and beating him on SCR is a legit way to kill him too.

Failing that Pit of Shades or Purple Sun. Though quite honestly I'd just tie him up and kill everything else. Let him stomp on skeletons all game until he's all that's left.

Ok that attack is a "chaos gift". I don't have the warriors book so if that counts as magical then I apologize.

Is surprising how many useless and pricey models GW are creating lately... I was so happy when I saw the Glottkin that I started a Daemons army.... Than I saw some battle report... Do they even test the miniature and the scenarios hey are writing for ET or is just random hype writers?!

This is not magic attack either. I have Glottkin book so i`m pretty sure about what they can do, and what they cannot. They cannot even harm lone wraith so manipulating CR in combat can do trick extremely well.

I'm surprised it's doesn't have the daemonic special rule...
Maybe this is caused by elven banner of Immune to Warhammer thing?
