Better Looking Vampires?

So let's be a little honest with ourselves here. The vampire models supplied by GW seem to have been following a bit of a trend recently... that is to say... they all look a little fugly. I mean come on.... Vlad von Carstein has some kind of ridiculous bear paw. Mannfred looks like his spinal column extends over his head and down his face.... Conrad? Well... i just don't like his rules. But my point is! How many of us use different people as our vampires? Be it GW models, or others.

I'd like to propose a showcase of models people have been using as vampires, other than GW ones. Be it attractive vampires, half-dead vampires. Rotting necrarchs. (Obviously coverted models would be a joy to see as well.)

I assume this is the best forum. As the showcase one seems to be for your own finished works.... if I'm wrong, please do tell me!

I'll drop mine here first for a look-see. They're not fully painted yet, so I'll post pictures of painted ones by others. It's the "look" we're showcasing, not my skill (non-existant.)

She has been ordered for my general ^^, long postal time though.

He looks great, I have him at the moment. His shield arm is seperate, so I left that off, placed an eldar hand on an arm (the one with a cupped hand for a gun - dire avenger), and put a flame in it. From a flaggelant set I believe. So he holds a sword in one hand, and a burning flame in the other. Perfect for my combat/caster hybrid.

That mounted gamezone mini is great.I have Gabriel darkblood myself.Reaper has some wonderful vamps,and other human/demihumans that can be painted to look vampiric.I'm seriously considering ordering the skinsaw man and putting his head on another model of mine.Nothing says undead like Franken-Folk.

It's a model i've ordered from Reaper Minis (google it, they're amazing) . I used the search engine. Female, Any race, Naked (for totally innocent reasons, that's my story and I'm sticking to it!!) And she was one of the results (strangely). Along with a lot of more... well naked ones. Which I felt couldn't be used in my local store.

My vampires are of the Blood Dragon line, so I'm planning on using a lot of High Elf models for my Lords and Heroes. Take a gander:

All this guy needs is a new paintjob and some sculpting to get rid of all the elfy insignia. For example, the gems on his chest will be replaced by skulls. I'll also swap out his shield for something more vampireish.

A little kitbashing should turn these guys into awesome-looking Blood Knights.

The one on the right should make a good Necromancer. I plan on sculpting the book to make it look like it's made of skin, and then resculpting anything that looks too elfish.

Ooh good idea. After all there is no reason the blood kiss can't be used on elves. That'll teach the pointy-eared B*stards!

And omg... awesomely cheap idea for bloodknights... arent they only £20 for 5 now? (Dragon princes i mean).... compared to £50 for 5 bloodknights.

Part of me now wants to buy a HE dragon rider, and slowly zombify the dragon.

While we're on the subject, does anyone have any ideas for a Wight King BSB model? Here's my idea:

The guy on the left could be converted by swapping the head for one from the Skeletons/Grave Guard box, and maybe a weapon swap too. The hammer on the standard could probably be switched for one of the scythes in the Zombie box without too much difficulty as well. After that, it's just a matter of painting him differently so he looks more undead.

its a good idea ive done it and i have to say it looks great just get some greenstuff and roll it into sausage shapes then put them on the dragon to make them look like guts hanging out and mabey cut out the dragons eye (ive done that) the high elf lord guy dosent need to change that much just pick the parts that look most vampirey. to paint i did a chaos black spray, rotting flesh dry brush, thraka green wash, another dry brush of rotting flesh, then a fin coat of badab black and it looks great i dont have a pic to put on here so youll just have to take my word for it!

I actually like that bear paw that Vlad has, to be honest, and I think that the Winged Lord is one of the coolest looking models in Warhammer Fantasy.

That said, I'm may be using the vampire model from Avatars of War for my kitted-out magic vampire.

Though, their necromancer model has its merits, obviously.

I've recently finished converting my own vampire from the Green Knight and the Bretonnian Lord with Lance, I've just got to paint him up and then I might post some pictures up (could be a while though as my PC is dead and I'm using my Dad's laptop when I get the chance).

I've just ordered one of these lovely ladies to use as my magic vampire.

This isn't the nicest paint job of the miniature I've seen, but I think you get the idea.

So after seeing some of the stuff in this thread, and having nothing better to do in the holidays, i decided to take some pictures of my vampire lord i made for my local stores yearly conversion competition after looking through my bits and seeing so many skulls, i decided, what real magic power would walk, when they can animate the dead? the model still needs some touching up (im considering adding some form of dress, but i was pleased.
