@Santawraith: Cheers. I rarely do centerpiece models, and this guy just fits the mold. Hope some Zombies died. Just hopefully not when a warhammer game is being played. Cause that would mean your troops are getting killed. And that would be bad.

@Tawg: Cheers Tawg! I took a picture of something similar. I went to my neighbors yard in the night and removed a chunk of ornamental bark that was surrounding her tree. I am sure she wont miss one. If I go into business selling these, she might start to see a dent in her supply, but we'll cross that bridge when we get to it!

Small update,
More paint on my wight king and a small gift from my sister.
*Still conducting an internal debate as to the colour of the hood.
Leather, beige like the robe, or green like the cloak? Or perhaps a different colour?

My vote would be for either a different color, or to match the cloak.

For a different color, I'd go with some cloth-like material, and then "wear" the hell out of it. Maybe some mild green highlights (mold) and that could help tie it in to the cloak?

Hey Brahm, thanks for the reply...I tried the cloth material, but am thinking it is too close to the skull colour and does not contrast enough. Please let me know what ya'll think!
I also tried something different with the cloak...painted in the shadowing. I really like it so far. I just hope the effect isnt lessened when I add weathering to the cloak.
Lastly, Muskateer, I have applied some colour to the grass clumps, and it works! thank you for the great idea. I will try to post some new pictures of the base soon.

Beautiful work. Just one small thing, if you permit me. But, if there was an extra tint of colour, blue/purple/green to the armour, it would give it that little bit more depth to make the model simply stunning.

Love it.

@Daoshi: I added some purple. What do you think? In person you can detect a small tone variance...not sure it comes through in the picture though.
@Santa: Thanks Santa!

On a side note, I have changed the colar colour from beige to a green. It is the same base colour as the cloak, but I changed the amount of white in the highlights and lessened the yellow so it would be similar but not the same as the cloak.

The grass tufts have also been given a dry-brush of the green from the cloak in order to further tie it in with the model, and to try what U_M suggested. Cheers again U_M.

The tufts are looking really good. I like how you tried to tie them in the cape. That was taking my suggestion to a whole new level! I really like the colours and, whilst it's taken in daylight, I really like the lighting you've put on the model.

Great job, I can't wait to see more!

Wow, I have had a hard time getting painting and modelling going again. Finished my wight King for Redarmy and needed a small break. (Oooo can't wait to get my Christmas in July present in the mail!!) To get back into the whole painting thing I started on one of my Blook Kaniggits. I also finished putting together the rest of my 20 man GG /w 2 handers, but did a scenic base for the command. Let me know what ya'll think.

One thing as you look...I had a primer malfunction and got a very pebbled primered model. If the final result doesn't make me happy I will either start a new musician or strip this one. AND HE IS STILL A W.I.P!!

what did you think of the torso and shoulders/arms of the dragon riders? i was kinda skeptical and couldnt get hold of that many pictures that showed them off at all angles, but i was tempted to buy the upper body aswell but ended up buying the horses only for a later conversion into blood knights.

still your upper bodies looks good, perhaps i was just harsh on them elves :P

@Wight Lord: Hey WL, I really had no problem with the torso of the knights. My only real issue with the models are the swords and the helms. The swords are very fragile...which I dislike in any model, and the helms, because there was really no way to convert the cone head look in order to make them look like anything else other than high elves.
Here are some pictures of the finished model. He is finished enough for my liking. I hate the grainy look that you can see in the close up pictures, and have thrown away the culprit can of primer. (It continued to do the same thing after later tests in the back yard)
Next up is finishing off a few GG or another Blood Knight, or even potentially getting another dark-age miniature finished. (I really wanted to get the warband done over the summer)

not a dead update, but a rotting one...
The new plastic demons (of Nurgle) came out, and I had to paint me up a few of them.

The color scheme looks excellent! I really like the way you did the boils, pustules, and intestines.

Though, I'm guessing you painted the plastic one up in sections? There are some very obvious joints in the pic. ;)

No, this was not painted up in sections. The sad part is that the seam you see is very obvious on all the models. I did not realize it was this bad until after I started applying paint, so I have since gone back to 15 of the 20 I started and liquid green stuffed the seam. 5 of the models are far enough along that I decided against reworking them, and they will happily shamble along in the center of the unit.
I think these guys might also work for rotting zombies, with a more human head attached, and a change in hands and feet. I might be revisiting the box set when I have recharged myself and start the undead crusade again.
