Hey all.

I've recently picked up another of GW's old classics: Blood bowl!

I naturally went with the vampire team and I'm currently working on getting them painted. This will be a painting log where I share my advancements with them, although I don't expect this to become a very large thread since a team maxes out at 16 players.

Anyway, here's my first four. We've got the vampires cpt. Lance (1) & Seth (2), and the thralls Simon (8) & Hambo (10). The names are still preliminary.

@MasterSpark Nice colour scheme, they're kinda like fantasy Night Lords - a pretty cool thing for a team of vampires.

Are you planning on doing (or have you done) any conversions for some of the players?

Just an idea: instead of numbers on their bases how about giving them all capes and having a number on them?

Hello @Farmer7574. I don't have any plans on doing any conversions to these miniatures, really. I wouldn't want to deface the originals.

When it comes to numbers they actually have an empty plate on the knee that could be used for that. A bright white number should probably work pretty well there, I'll see to that eventually.

And I really didn't have the night lords in mind when I painted them but now when you mention it they would certainly fit the bill. :)

Next up is another vampire and thrall. My team at this point consists of 4 vampires and 7 thralls so I have some ways to go still.

@MasterSpark That's, cool. I played a couple of games of BB back when I was young and a friend had it.

I have played BB2(the video game) to death over the past year. Really good. Just needs a bigger selection of teams.

I hear there will be a new edition of BB the boardgames released in 2017? I may pick it up then if it looks good.

I just recently bought an old GW game which got a new release last year. Fury of Dracula. Now I just need to get some friends over to play it.

Cool! I haven't seen many real Blood Bowl minis, especially undead, so that's something new :) They are fine minis and the painting is also good. Like @Farmer7574 said, the color scheme is top notch - conveying their undeadness while still keeping with the Blood Bowl atmosphere

Hello everyone!

I never got around to update this thread with anything further. Truth be told we never did play very much Blood Bowl, unfortunately, but by a stroke of luck I've discovered that there's a venerable old gaming club in my city that has been playing continuously since the early 2000's. I'll be joining their next season starting in January and for the occasion I'll be repainting my entire team. My very first deed, however, was to produce a team logo for my vampires.

Behold!

I love the logo! Nice, bold colors. The minis were pretty sweet-looking too, even though it sounds like you're going to be repainting. I'd never seen those particular models before, didn't even know there WAS a VC/undead BB team. Looking forward to more updates!

Thanks @benvoliothefirst, I'm glad you like the logo. I like it alot myself as well and plan to put it to good use, perhaps print up a T-shirt or two with it to wear during games. :)

And speaking of undead in Blood Bowl they're actually quite well represented. You've got the original Undead team (with wights, ghouls and zombies) but there's also the Necromantic team (zombies, flesh golems and werewolves), Khemri team (skeletons and mummies) and Vampire team (vampires with human thralls). I was surprised to see the spread, and that they managed to make the teams play as diverse as they do. It's a fascinating game, Blood Bowl, and you can tell that the community has really been keeping it alive all this time.
