Hi, I would like to make an old blood dragon bloodline theme list for a 2013 tournament. What list or units do you sugest to use?

If I remember the back of the book in 6th ed let you use Black knights in brettonian wedge formation (very naughty) and they had bowmen. However now in 8th ed your best looking at Blood knights naturally for that feel, although they are very hard to replace on the field once they go down. This brings us back to Black knights. I suppose it really depends on how you wish to fight this one out or what is the look of the army I want?
Models to go for are Black Knights, Blood Knights, Grave Guard and Skeletons. Ghouls in a Blood Dragon army sound off to me (although they are our best core). Dire wolves, Fell Bats, Bat swarms,Vargheist any that is fast should be included. With your vampires I suppose Red fury and Quick Blood shouldn't be missed out and neither should dread Knight on at least one of them. Although zombies make great cheap bumps as we know for what you are looking for I'm unsure that they would be right in such an army.
However its your list so think of what exactly your theme is and go on from there. Best of luck.

The Lance Formation(wedge is 5th ed) was not available for other armies than Brets in 6th. Also Vampire Counts has never had bowmen.

Actually yes they did have bowmen and black knights in lance formation it was an opponent permission alternate list for Blood Dragons at the back of the 6th edition Vampire Counts book but you had to decide your knights were from Bretonnia for them to have the lance formation.
I see, never experienced anyone using it, but now that you say it I remember being pretty hyped about that option, I acutally think that was what prompted me to make me Bret army Blood Dragon Themed
