Bloodletters Unique Color?

I've grown bored of the usual red scheme and would like to do a unique/unusual color for the Bloodletters.
Sure sure, Khorne won't be too happy, but I'll make some excuse...they are...err...the Guardians of Tzeentch...Something that people would believe.

Anyways, I'm really torn between all the possibilities and really would be happy with any color as long as I could execute it properly.
Any input on a "base" color?

Once chosen I'll definitely throw some pictures up and, if all goes well, will proceed with the rest of them.
If not then at least there's paint stripper.

I have always been fantasizing about blue Bloodletters. Deep blue Bloodletters, their swords a glowing red, their horns and claws of steel with gold accents...

Yeah man, do that.

I've got a completely different thought than MS here.

I'm thinking one of two monochrome: Blindingly white, Pristine Bloodletters with solid black highlights in bold designs, maybe like tattoos or swirls.

Red highlights on the Blade, and I think it'd be a wrap.

Khorne's never happy, it's his, y'know, schtick.

I think a scheme in between the two suggested above would work, a very pale blue with deep blue shading (the contrast would take some skill to achieve) and a chromatic contrast on the blades, perhaps a NMM gold scheme. The colour-contrast would also work on the hilts or the first foot or so (in scale terms!) of the blades with a black edge towards the end.

Alright so late last night I painted up a Blue test scheme.
Started with Regal Blue, followed by Ultramarines Blue, then Enchanted Blue, and finally Ice Blue.

The pictures didn't exactly capture the Ice Blue as much as I would like.
Anyways...tell me what you think.
...I feel like it works..but it seems that it isn't the right scheme just yet, though I've found the more you examine a scheme the more you can feel if it is right.
But the spines did come out pretty well I think

If you feel something go ahead and let me know if you have any input on how I can approach another blue one differently?

Grey/White one is coming since that's also the popular vote.
Eventually I'll get both schemes up and it'll be a decision between Blue and White/Grey

I really wish the guy would've cleaned up those mold lines before he sent them to me :slapface:

I'd try a darker blue than that one. Like, a really dark one.

That one's still a nice job though.

So here goes another try.
I'm actually quite fond of this one in fact. It was a very simple scheme starting from Codex Grey and working my way up to Skull White ( verrryyy lightly ).
Silver ( Boltgun Metal ) horn "tips".
Golden Yellow edged sword.
And would you look at that, I forgot the tongue :slapface:
Probably a dark green with lighter tip on that. Or maybe just a grey with ligher tip...

He took a mere 15 minutes! That is of course not without a few errors.
So if I were to continue with this, I'd say 20 minutes a pop.

If you look at the sword you'll notice a blooper
Originally I started to almost cover the sword with the yellow and then I flipped back around and settled with just the edging.

Hm...my images seem to be SUPER SIZED...might have to fix that o_o
The model looks great from a few more inches away and even better in person however.

Yellow one will come along with the white one when I can go grab the white spray paint from the store and borrow my friend's yellow spray paint.

Spraying them achieves a MUCH smoother coat than simply brushing it right on.
Especially yellow and white.

I'm thinking I'll need to turn this into Painting Log at this rate...

lol i have another idea! white with red poka dots... imagine the sisters of battle roll up. and then the blood letters appear with a wardrobe malfunction poka dots the sisters of battle wont know what to do and suffer from terror.

Looking at the original list of colours I'd have thought blue bloodletters would look good-a very deep blue.
After seeing your blue test model however I'm not so sure-the blue one looks like a strange reptilian fish.

I do like the grey bloodletter you've done. I think a green tongue would look good-although possibly painting the horns a bone colour as well. Just to contrast the rather dull tones of the figure.

Besides if you are doing test models of all the colours why not just choose which you prefer at the end?! You'll know what they all look like then and don't need to listen to us!

I really like the grey model, as the blue looks.....wrong somehow. So I vote for the grey one!
