Hi

I love the fluff about the cursed city of Musillon, Bloodknights, the first "dragon lord" and so on.

I want to make an VC army based on the fluff.
There should at least be knight in this army. Necromancers as Bretonnian damsels, spirit host as eternal questning knights and so on.

Also,it is important that the list is competitive. I would like to try it in tournaments.

So far I have found black knight with vampire knight, backed up by a necromancer lord to work. The necro brings back fallen knights. Hexwraiths are good but very fragile. The Black coach super, IF I can roll 6es.

Any thought about how to build this army are appreciated.

Some idea for your theme:

Bretonian peasants and zombies used for your zombies as I mentioned in another one of your posts.

Black coach could be a fallen hero/lord that was important.

Obviously your heros are vamps and wights

Black knights as your hard hitters.

One unit of blood knights as your grail knight equivalent.

And I would use banshees as your damsels. Necros are too ugly lol.

So zombies and skellies I would say are your troop choices for sure. But that is just me. Just tossing out some ideas. Hope it helps! It sounds like a fun theme and I am sure you can make it work.

Im doing a similar thing with the undead Bretonnian theme, based on their crusades into araby. (Kinda trolling my mate who is doing a Hospitaller themed army).

Skeletons warriors as the undead crusaders of Araby (dark - almost black - sand/dead grass bases). Multiple heraldic designs to make it seem like a mixed-bag crusader army.

The Grave Guard use bretonnian KotR shields and/or equipped with two handed weapons appropriate to foot knights (hammers and swords and axes). Little use of bat-wing helmets.

Banshees for Damsels.

The Mortis Engine has the dead knight from the grail reliquae mounted on top instead of the corpse-master and the coffin-thing :p

The Corpse cart is dragged by zombies with bretonnian men-at-arms helmets/heads.

The Zombies are painted the drab colours of monks and pilgrims.

Banners all include defiled grail paraphernalia.

Ill upload images when a get a unit/piece finished.

Btw i just noticed this is not at all appropriate for this thread :p

Fallen pegasus as hellsteeds, and resurrected griffins as abysmal terrors, definitely.
A corrupted altar of the grail (or whatever the name is) could become a mortis machine.
Units of black knights on pegasus could be used as vargheists.

I like those!

Also, Banshee models for damsels is sweet (mentioned above).

You can run Blood Knights as fallen grail knights.

I use a damsel model as a necromancer (bathe in the blood of virgins to maintain youth type deal), Men-at-arms with skulls and skeleton arms as grave guard (converted back in 5th or 6th when halberds were an option), previous incarnation skeletons and zombies with men-at-arms hats mixed in, bowmen as spirit hosts, old 5th edition knights as black knights (with suitable bony arms, legs, heads etc thrown in for the look), current knights as blood knights (all with some form of dragon-y crest and dark elf shields), black coach (the mordheim stage coach with flagellent wraith driver), corpse cart drawn by skeleton horses and driven by a skeleton wearing a knight helm, converted some knights to count as vargheists by adding tyranid gargole wings to the horses, working on a Mortis Engine that is on wheels (as a parody of possible seige equipment) and a zombie dragon climbing on a grail chapel. Also converting Archaon to be my lord.

I have some newer skeletons that I think dont look Bretonnian enough. Those will go with the new Black Knights to form a contingent of the army raised from the barrows. I also have some hex wraiths to add in.

Actually, I'm running a Bretonnian themed army. My Pegasus Knights are Vargheists and my Damsels are Banshees.
