I had a quick question while reworking my list. Does magic resistance help when you miscast? Example : prophetess with blessing would have a natural wsv of,4+ vs miscasts?

Okiedokie I see that now. I'm trying to squeeze in a DS on my lvl 4.

Prophetess lvl4
Warhorse, ToP, crown of command
Heavens

The crown is just to make sure my unit doesn't run. She would go with a pally an a bsb in a unit of 6KoR. Is that not needed?

Your bret list has about 7 units. Anyone can divert the heck out of that bus and be home in time for cornflakes. I also wouldn't let you get the charge either.
You may have warmachines but the enemy has ways of dealing with them as well.

I'm really not sold on extreme deathstars like that, no offense Sun.

My list rethought.

Prophetess lvl4, heavens, ToP, Warhorse, crown of command

Damsel,beasts, Warhorse, DS

BSB, lance, barred warhorse, gromril great helm

Paladin, shield, lance, knightly temper, barded warhorse

2x7 knights of the realm, stand

5 knights of the realm, stand, banner of eternal flame

2x5 mounted yeomen

2 trebuchets

I dropped the men at arms/prayer icon for more knights. I could then afford a dispell scroll, some chaff or flank support, and a unit with flaming attacks.

I have a proxy game in the works versus dark elves (lvl4,Cobloodw/WE,Hydra) so I hope this list will not completely suck.,

1500pts

I was worried about having to few units and being swamped, but this will be my first game as bretts and I don't know jack about them outside reading the book.

Phone won't let me edit

I could trade out my second pally for 5 knights. Maybe habit but most of my lists have twin characters. I would think the knightly temper pally can bring the pain, but dropping him let me keep my 5 man monster hunters and bring each big knight unit to 11 total with characters. How is that?

I started as a msu knight myself which in 7th worked wonders. Now, lances of 9 - 12 (including characters) do the job nicely. Always charge, don't let them charge you. Always charge with 2+ lances. Always aim to hit a flank with at least one lance. The only thing M@A are good for is absorbing a charge, and holding long enough for you to do the above.

Mounted yeomen are the best re-directors we have, fast, cheap and expendable.

Trebuchets are awesome. I use mine purely to attract cannon fire, or be a distraction in some other way. Strength 5(10) is not to be sniffed at. Played a friend's VCs last week, turn 1 saw both tg take a rock to the face and then 6 wounds. Turn 2 saw them misfire and explode but, that's how my luck goes.

Grail Knights work well as a small lance, personally I run 6 with eternal flame and musician. The hunt hydra/trolls/trollgut ogres.

Peg Knights fulfill the same roll as vargheists (warmachine/wizard hunters) best used as a min sized unit with musician. They are fast cav, so you can vanguard, they fly and pegasi are great.

Bowmen - give them Braziers (flaming) shoot trolls/tg/ch with them first then drop a rock on them.

Questing knights are the worst knights at taking damage (3+ save in combat) but are the only ones that will take a charge and continue to slug it out in multiple rounds. Use as small unit to block or force charges.

Grail Relique expensive for what it does, limited in size, generally not worth it. Looks cool though.

Knights Errant with Errantry Banner. Stick BSB in here. Put lord in KotR with standard of discipline. So long as the two units are near eachother, the errants should behave. Ld 8 with re-roll for impetuous tests. KE are great for monster hunting, ITP on the charge ftw.

The brets are a good army, if used right. With the steadfast rule, you probably won't break your opponent on the charge (with a single unit) and S3 sucks in the inevitable slug fest that is 8th ed combat but, remember to hit with multiple units and it can be done.

For the King! For the Lady! For Bretonnia!

Quick questions. Lance Formation: it says on the charge, so models not in the first 2 ranks can no longer attack after round 1 of a charge? The attacks given by lance formation are 1 attack or profile number attacks? Example Grail Knight 1 or 2 attacks from the 4th rank?

I just want to answer the earlier question about the blessing. Should you choose to pray (recommended), the blessing kicks in straight away.

A piece of advice was given to me once, I shall pass it on to you young knight. Although at first glance our army appears to be a highly offensive one, it isn't. The Bretonnians work best as a counter army. Let them move towards you, use your mobility to choose your fights. Large numbers of bowmen with a heavens prophetess and 2 (always 2) trebuchets will force that. Use M@A to hold a unit (damsel with prayer icon to give blessing- put her on a horse activate icon at start of game and leave the peasants to their fate) and multi charge with knights.
