And I thought my rust was cool :P Very cool Bull! Looks like it has been rusting for ages! Could you imagine to try something similar with "under water effect"? Like rust, but green/blue corroded, with shells and stuff? That I'd love to see!

Thanks mate really apriciate it.!

Hmm could you elaborate a bit.. What kind of material do you have in mind? Like a corroded ironbar with algea on it or what? What does the blue represent?

@sunny
You are very welcome, we'll give it a try on your when we see each other at some point!

Yeah kinda, I think sunken ships show best what I mean while I'm not sure myself 100% xD
something like this

/ed Though the second one is rusted too "normally" for what I especially mean. I think I just wanna see how you would interpret and do something this way ;)

So I just screencapped your whole post. That was invaluable. What's the ratio of burnt siena to pva glue?

I don't have anything special in mind, I just wonder how it would like if you'd try it ;) I am even not sure what to do with it if you'd go for it xD Maybe a shipwrecked themed zombie army or seamonster-skin

Hmm I will think about it don't think I have anything I can apply it too right now but I promise I will give it a go once I do get my head wrapped around it :)

Hehe cool.! Hmm first off I use a mix of PVA, water and a tiny drop of dishwash soap. The consistency should be like cream or a very fatty milk :) I always have a paint pot with the mix around. I use it when basing too great for locking down sand and small stones down even tighter.

I made up a new mix as I am finishing up the mini and used a 1:1 mix but it's hard to quantify powder to liquid; a little more liquid to powder as it gets too clumpy and dries to fast otherwise. Once it has dried up a bit on the pallet you can go over the mini a second time with a light stippling effect to create the wanted texture.

The best way to go around it is to play with it. The main thing that makes it pop is the unevenness, the shading with agrax earthshade and the stippling/drybrushing of the bright orange.!

I will post pictures of the finished mini later today, sans base as I haven't figured out how to go about it yet.. It was really fun making another 40k miniature and I love painting nurgle, I have bought some 40k chaos renegade models that I will paint from time to time when I feel like it :) Sunny did try to get me to start a 40k army but I need to get my ogres done before I start on another army full time.!

Thank you very much!! I will give you more soon'ish :) But it's a large project so it will take some time to get done.. Hopefully I'll get it done before my 3 weeks vacation!

I demand a picture of a painted Nurgle DP! :D

Oh damn you.! I need to paint more ogre stuff if I'm not to proxy half my army ;) I will promise you to bump it higher up the list though.! I'm thinking of dual basing it so I can use it for 40k, *hint hint* But with you pushing out like a bazillion models a day I will not be able to keep up even a little ;)

To be honest a Typhus Plague Zombie list in 40k seems to be right up my ally it's a modeller/painters gold mine, oh the conversions that could be done and all those epic forgeworld models that would fit in that army is making my wallet thinner already! :)

Thanks! My main problem is that I'm all over the place, half the trip for me is the planning going on in my head when building an army, deciding a theme. I get distracted waaay to easy which is why the scale is so large ;) I see a cool model or get a conversion idea I often drop what I have in my hands and go do that instead.. But I've decided that my main focus will be my undead ogres until I have my main list fully painted. Luckily two out of three of the next projects I have in mind will be able to work as both VC and OK units/models.

Ooooohhh I like your little hints Bull! Yesss join the 40k side! Hmm... Well I'm sorry if my speed painting is making you reluctant to start a 40k, but look at it this way: Each of my Infantry men cost 38 pounds and only 5 points in game... I need to be fast and rich to outrun you forever :D
Sounds awesome with you as Daemons in 40k, we have no Daemon players yet *hint hint* :D

RE: Bullhax's plog - Here be dead ogres! Last update 23/01-2014

Sad to say the list i mentioned is a Chaos list.. My main drive in an army is the models, and I dislike 70% of the daemon models, sadly.

I love nurgle though mainly the non daemon models and the general idea, it has so much conversion potential it's not even funny. So I will go in a mono nurgle direction.

I've bought some chaos renegade forces and I'm going to kitbash them with plaguebearers. They will mainly play as plaguemarines if at all, they were bought purely because I had to have them ;)

Wow! Such a wonderful job on these guys. I especially love the colors that you're working with and the depth you're bringing with them. Incredibly well done. I can't wait to see more!

All the best,

Jake

We don't have any chaos marines in the group so that's fine as well :D

Cool! :) I have no clue of their power level all i know is that those FW models are insanely cool.! I want a blight drone soo bad, will field it instead of a helldrake as that model looks like a plucked chicken..!

The death guard conversions and calas typhus and death guard terminators with powerscythes holy crap.. I'm glad I get an actual job soon!

RE: Bullhax's plog - Here be dead ogres! Last update 23/01-2014

Ok here it is a long comming update. I got invited to Thailand with the whole family for all of febuary so my projects has been on hold till now.!

My now finished "Thundertusk" was a large project too.! I've left the front of the base rather open as I need the small spiders elsewhere and hope that some are left to put on this one if not I will have to figure something out as it is rather barren right now.

Oooh, now that's awesome!

Love the yellow on the spider and the jade on the banshees, plus the two combined.

Great idea and execution, the whole thing has a very cool eerie feel to it.
Had an idea once to use Arachnarok as a 2nd Terrorgheist, and this certainly spawns some new ideas for that project.

Giant winged spider... I'm not even sure what to make of that!

Loving the crisp yellow on the spider by the way, such a hard colour to work with! :(

Thank you for the kind words! Really glad you like it!! I just love the model and have almost started an O&G army just to have it but this was way more easy :)

I actually saw a great conversion done of a 40k nurgle flyer, it had rotorblades instead of wings but the legs was dangling underneath it in the coolest way looked way plausible, I guess wings would be no problem to use instead but would have to be a big pair of wings!! :)
