Really? D:

I've been playing it wrong! I assumed the Wraith still used his great weapon..

Wait... so, what happens with a Vampire with a great weapon and he uses Master Strike?

Same as this example?

Thanks!

Well.. maybe it ain't that obvious after all.

I've just assumed that the Chill Grasp attack is something the wraith dose with his hand (like clawing out you soul), so not something he dose with his scythe. Similarly I would explain Master Strike as a very powerful strike made with whatever weapon the vampire is carrying, and therefore it would suffer from any rules the weapon might have. But rulewise I don't know...

It is a special attack, I would have to go with Initiative order. you are forgoing your attacks with your weapon for this special attack so you are not using your weapon.

If you use your chill grasp would you count it as str3 or str5? i know it has no armor save against it, but for items like the dark elf pendant of khalaed or the brets blessing it matters. I would say it is str3 because it is not an attack made with the great weapon.

I think in the game I went with I2 and yeah it works well against bretonnian knights!

here is the battle report if interested (3 player battle for la maisontaal abbey)

The rule for chill grasp says automatically wound with no armor save.

So a str. value is mostly irrelevant so it might be possible it don't have one just like death shriek.
