So......
Do you think this guy could work?
My thinking is most enemies will need 6's to hit and even high WS fighters will need 5's, probably re-rolling successful hits, then he has a decent ward and hits back strongly. I intend to run him in a dual blender Lord bus, the other Lord being a level 4, so should get the re-rolls through vanhels.

He's viable if he doesn't get pulled into challenges from dread knight. Though he will be hard to hit, he has got to generate wounds. Rank and file can't really touch him though.

Hmm, i think the baby vamp could be more useful with dreadknight. That two blenders could use red fury for r&f.

Blender Lords are best slaughtering the worthless cattle that are your opponents rank and file. Then you blow them out and make them break. Accept a challenge with your unit champ or WK bodyguard.

If you want to win challenges, most blender builds can beat nearly anything in a challenge, except their bitter rival the 3++ Tzeench Lord. To be sure you have to know what you are facing; you may never get to strike against an OTS elf if you bring a great weapon, unless you have a nightshroud nearby.

It was just an idea :)
I'm trying out alternative builds and taking advantage of 50% lords and running 2 blender lords in the same unit.
I still may try him out alongside a nightshroud WK (night king) and another blender :)
Thanks

Mount them and put them in BK bus. And start do mess on....anything? You can put baby vamps for more overkill. In 2500pts you can get 2VL and 2 baby in big 14+ unit of BK, and you still should have some spare points on hard hitting support. Get Vargheists of hexies and you can end up in inflicting about 50+ high strenght attack on target unit. The trick is that you have to control other enemy units to avoid very nasty counters, so if you dont have isnane numbers of dire wolves, it will be very risky. Shooting will be biggest pain, so....more wolves - they are not only redirectors, but they can hunt down warmachines.

I'm a huge fan of hexwraiths. I run two units of six. Very difficult to learn to use, but once you do, they become invaluable. Your goal with them is keep your hexwraiths within 12" of the general when they need to move so they can maximize running through enemy, use them to clear chaff out of the way of your general's unit, they can soften up enemy units and ruin washbasins and small units day once they get down into enemy back field. Just try not to get them pined down in combat unless it's the best choice for them. As ethereals, against certain units they are a death sentence and neutralize them when they intercept and redirect them. Plus, hexwraiths get a second run through when van hel's is used on them!

Rank-and-file may be hitting him on 6's, but most everything else would be hitting him on 5s and striking first.

Honestly, the traditional blender build is a better challenge-fighter than this guy. Give the VL beguile, stick next to a WK with the Nigthshroud, and you'll rip apart most any challenger in no time.

The trouble with that is that your VL is stuck in a challenge, where is blender prowess is substantially muted by the enemy character's defensive capabilities. That leaves his unit open to getting thrashed on CR, thereby crumbling out the vampire.

You're really better off taking the challenge with just about anyone else.

"The Dread Necromancer Nagash turns his unblinking eye towards his immortal champion. Finding you already Undead, he confers his gift of Double Undead upon you.

You cannot March unless within 12" of both armies' General. You Crumble double Wounds lost by CR. You are so Unbreakable your Movement statistic is reduced to 0. Your Immune to Psychology rule becomes an Area of Effect that is conferred to enemy units as well."

Lol someone make a table for us in The Necrarch Workshop.

Make one of the benefits, "The character does not receive wounds from crumbling."

You could get half of half your former WS too for that matter.

Oh! and half your former Ld value as well.

On the other hand, he could be re-vampirized, and get:

S6
T6
Ld11
WS8

and can march on his own, even if the march rule is no longer in the BRB anymore (he can march in WH40k, even though they can't).

Plus some side Vampiric gifts:

- Get an extra attack on a pre-save wound (Red Red Fury)
- Strike when Impact hits are resolved (Quickest Blood)
- Enemies re-roll failed to Hit and to Wound rolls (Re-Beguile....? can't find the appropiate name)
- Enemies re-roll the re-roll of passed Fear and terror tests (Terror Incarnate)

...

I could go on with this, but the Eye of Nagash is simple! :D

-------------------------------

On topic, yep go with a standard blender lord for challenges. If you fear a Daemon Prince of Nurgle will outlast you, go with Master Strike (there is no use for beguile against a 2+ to hit roll). It doesn't hurt to get HKB off, since all you will do is just sit there and absorb wounds with your armor and ward saves D:

Pretty sure it's beguiling beguile. That first one is redder fury. :P

Corpse Carts could give your units an ability that trumps elven speed, "More Firststriker Than Thou"

Wow, that was terrible...
