I'm sure this is a simple question, but I'd appreciate some help.

Assume a unit with full command. If the unit suffers more wounds in close combat than the number of models in the front rank, does the Champion still get to fight back? I would assume so, as he has not been specifically targeted, but I can't see a definitive answer in the BRB.

Many thanks.

A little tip along these line, because he is targetable as a character, always allocate an attack against the champion of a unit. Use a different dice and let your opponent know. Why? Because he has the same statline and armour 99% of the time, except he has extra attacks (Or BS in some cases). This means that he is just as easy to kill as a normal trooper, so you aren't giving up any potential CR from not killing him (As if you fail to wound, you would have failed to wound anyway) but if you succeed, then you have less attacks to weather back and he can't challenge a character out later on in the game.
