I really dig your no-rear driver Wheel. The positioning is really fun. What arms did you use for the censer rats? Also, do you run a big unit like that, or two groups of 8? Mine never seem to be where I need them to make their points back. Maybe I need two small units instead of one of 12.

Also, do you run a big unit like that, or two groups of 8? Mine never seem to be where I need them to make their points back. Maybe I need two small units instead of one of 12.

I don't know what strange force drove me to hollow out all of my Plague Censers.... But I did:



Then using my wifes Jewelry making tools I crafted the ropes from which to swing them:



I've also decided to turn my old Plague Priest comversion into a Plague Chanter.



I want to add a book to his back, but looking through my bits box, I can't find anything big enough.

I had a very specific image in my mind of what I wanted. A million years ago when I was a child (the Early 1990's) I collected a Magazine Series called the Ancestral Trail. There was a character called Melek who carried a book around on his back and I wanted shomthing like that...

Although having looked it up this morning: http://theancestraltrail.com/New Pages/Ancestral Trail 1to26/ancestral-trail-1-moss-beast.php it's a little bigger than I remember. So something big but not that big.... Anyone know of anything in the GW range? A big closed book? Like... 1x1.5cm? Metal/plastic/resin doesn't really matter, fantasy or 40k....

If not I'm going to have to try making one from plasticard.

How exactly did you "build" those ...chains? on the last pic? They look like it could be used as rope (for a noose), or am I wrong there?

The Empire Wizard, Celestial Hurricanum, Elf Mage... Mortis Engine? Those kits all have books I think. Maybe the Flagellant kit?

A book that big you could probably bang together with green stuff and plasticard....


Also, thanks for reminding me of the ancestral trail books. I read a few of them a long, long time ago and had forgotten about them until now.

To re-answer that question. I just played my first ever, proper game of Warhammer. I took a unit of 10 and they got annihilated by a Jabberslyth. Although that was probably more my inexperience than theirs.

Its a great idea for the wire there and it does add allot to the models, I do however have concerns about ranking and the paint coming off the metal when the wire gets bent or has this not been an issue?

Well, when you twist the wire together like that, it becomes work hardened and doesn't bend out of shape very easily. Ranking up is not really a problem. They are for the most part skirmishers and there is a specific pattern in which they can rank up together (when in close combat).
