Well I wasnt going to use mods anyway so thats not much of a bother, and like I say my laptop isnt the greatest so if I was playing it on that itd be on the lower settings. Its also a steam game isnt it? Steam is tempermental at best when I'm in college.

I have it on my Xbox 360 and it's perfectly fine. Not only this but they're saying they're going to patch it to bring the console textures right up to PC standard too.

Now Viglink likes to link Xbox 360...

I've finally started on the Dark brotherhood, It's tedious to leg it into the next holds lands.... but funny when the guards pursuing you hit a giant. Win win baby!

Now, I'm going to go hide in a box and keep m' lady happy. ;)

Just installed it on a duo i3 3.07gh, 4gig ram, 1g radeon 6850 and it runs smoothly on high settings. I haven't even noticed the mouse bug people are talking about. If you played Fallout 3 you'll quickly feel right at home with Skyrim. Once you get your favourites and key-mapings sorted combat feels great. However, if you encounter problems on the PC just check this link out;

Just purged a vampire lair... WITH FIRE!

Loving this game :)

I had to run a stupid distance to reach a city once. Easily solved by the transformation into a werewolf and the usage of his stupidly fast run and epic stamina.

Of course, every now and then you need to stop somewhere and feed, but that's not so bad, is it...? :devil2:

Diddily dee, Look at me! Cicero see's while the mistress pee's!

Thoroughly enjoyed the DB storyline, as ever. Bubbling pool of... winning!
I've actually delayed a certain questline to avoid the werewolf opportunity... at least for now.

3 skills at 100 now, working on finishing enchanting off whilst doin a bit of amateur alchemy... then to sit and summon things for a few days... :D

Dragon armour really does require a lot less parts than i expected though... by the time I unlocked it I'd horded enough parts to easily make 6 sets!
Maybe-spoiler here:
3 heavy, 3 light /endspoiler
and still have enough bits to roll around in!

after some messing around with potions to enhance BS, I ended up with something really awesome... "epic" Iron boots. :D

Hehe, I can just imagine: *dude with boots walking down street, whistling* (passer by): OMG!! Those aren't normal boots, they're (echoey deep voice) EPIC BOOTS.

.. What a pimp.

I didn't realise you could get vamps in this game!! I definately want it even meow now than ever, but my pc is crap, and I don't think I will be able to play it.. Could anyone help me?

Is it me or do the "evil" Daedric princes seem the most trustworthy compared to all the jerks in Skyrim? Becoming a Daedric Prince's champion? Cool. Joining the Legion or Stormcloaks? Screw that, those guys have issues.

Hehe, the dark brotherhood isn't exactly the freindliest lot either. "So here's one of our recruits, he has to kill peeps just to join us, and if you annoy us we send hired thugs to kill you as we can't be bothered to do it ourselves". *backs away slowly*

So, the only thing that is kind of keeping from checking out the Vamps is the increased vulnerability to Fire...especially in a game where you fight Dragons...who breath FIRE! o_o

Well, you do have ice dragons, which at normally harder, but I guess they're super easy when your a vamp *nakes mental note for when he gets skyrim*. Also, if you are worried about having to fight a firey dragon, just go and hav a 'meal' and you won't be too affected.:suck:

True, but as just recently happened to one of my characters, dragons also tend to roam the open land and swoop down from above unexpectedly. So, if I am at full Vamp stage and some scaly winged fire breathing fellow drops in on me, well, I am now one well done Vamp!

Ill play around with it sometime and see how it goes.

You can cure yourself form it anyways, and you could use the epic invisibility power if a dragon came, but it's only once a day  I still love the idea of being a vamp, no matter the consequences.

Just about finishing up the main quest with my Altmer and doing the last Thieves Guild Achievement with my Dunmer assassin. Restoring the Guild ot its former glory; what a pain in the hindquarters achievement that one is! All those stupid tasks whilst I already finished the whole Thieves Guild major quest...ulgh.
The Dark Brotherhood was great again, I just loved the new Shadowmere and how he was "summoned"! Not too fond about fondling the Night Mother in the dark. Oh and Cicero is plain damn cool.
Been hearing negative things about the Winterhold/Mages questline but I actually really liked it. There's also pretty awesome gear to get and a lot of extra fun if you help the enchanter guy find his Dwemer stuff. There's a lot of hidden secrets underneath Winterhold...

After these all the major quests are out of the way and I will be doing side quests and general exploring which for me is the biggest fun-factor in the TES-series. Funny enough I never cared much for the Main Quest apart the Daggerfall and Morrowind ones though the Morrowind's main quest was tedious and boring in the beginning and you had to bite through it first.
Been playing on the 360 since Oblivion as I just don't have the cash to upgrade for every game. Oblivion was a serious letdown though apart from Shivering Isles which was great though a bit hard to swallow for me at the end lore-wise.
Skyrim once again gives me that Morrwind feeling I missed in Oblivion even though things have changed a lot; no stats, no classes and perks. Reminds me more of Fallout actually but at least you are able to save your perks for later and you do not have to choose right away.

Love how the story has progressed into the 4th Age. The Aldmeri Dominion has once again risen to power! I knew that with the end of the Septim bloodline the Empire would be seriously destabilized.
Too bad there's no option to join the Thalmor with my Altmer though. I joined the Stormcloaks with him to unbalance the heathen monkey Empire further. Just getting sick of their true Nords mantra and I also killed the Talos priest in Whiterun. I mean I have a home with my Altmer wife there and he stands there screaming about a ninth Divine...no way.xD

If you want to play a vampire but have trouble getting roasted you should look into playing a Dunmer as they have resistance to fire and it cancels out the vampire weakness to it. I always use a Dunmer for a vamp character.
My Dunmer assassin-vamp takes down dragons easily with high Sneak and Marksman. My Altmer uses Ice Spikes(which is a hilarious spell btw when they get stuck right into faces and groins).:devil2:
Both chars have no real trouble with dragons though playing a pure mage is incredibly hard this time. Mage is great at lower levels but Destruction just doesn't do it at higher levels anymore, you need to use all spells at your disposal to win a battle. Conjuration and Alteration Wards are your friend.
Sneaky characters are hard at first but turn around at higher levels completely.

If you want to go pure mage, get your conjuration and destruction up to 100. Do NOT focus on magicka regen gear, it is pointless. In combat your regen is so pathetic adding 150% does almost nothing. No, instead _always_ go with gear than reduce spell cost or a magicka increase(this is essential for destro mages as otherwise you'll just find yourself out of magicka or potions). You can actually enchant your gear till the point where the spells from a particular school cost you nothing.

For my example, my mage is in full Daedric(yes, he wears heavy armour). His gear reduce the cost of destruction spells to zero and some items into conjuration(to cope with the insane cost of summoning your master level thralls). The rest is health and resistances.

Oh right, when you reach destruction 100. You is literally given a deathray. It is channelled and will f*** any mage up(since it is lightening based). However, Dragons will not be reduced to nothing. Your army is above average more often than not you will kill it because it has finished its "YOU CAN'T TOUCH ME"-fly-bys. Since your spells cost nothing you can hold this deathray up indefinitely(word of caution, you need to charge it up for a few seconds and it does not stagger opponents despite being a double-hand cast so not advisable versus multiple opponents, unless they are mages). My mage also run two Storm thralls(master conjuration quest). Now if you feel dramatic or want to roleplay do the Storm shout as way and let all fear the power of the stormlord!!! Muhahahhaahahhaahaha! ... errr, sorry.

However my main is a Sneak/one-hand/light armour/block/illusion/blacksmith/enchanting at 100, archery at 70 and same with destruction I think. Has a nice 1060 armour value(fully augmented dragonscale) and given Esbern's potion(if you play on console you can't get the perk, it is bugged, unless they can patch it somehow), dying to a dragon is impossible.

That said, that's where the dynamic diffuculty settings enters the picture. Bethesda knows that there are certain peole, like me, who's played one too many MMOs and who will optimise their characters. This, coupled with the massive freedom of choice makes it very easy to "break the game" and create a godlike character. Indeed, the character described above is one these. For this reason, Bethesda have given you the option of adjusting the diffculty setting to suit you and your character. While it is fun to run around like a badass for awhile, swatting down dragons like it ain't no thang takes away the suspence and epicness of a dragon-fight.

So to those that find the game to be too easy. Up the difficulty. Makes the game so much more fun and the dragon-fights will earn back that feeling of a epic battle. It is to be said though, if you've made a perfect god-character even this might not help but it will make fights more interesting and rewarding(and not feel like you're just running around swating flies).

Also worth mentioning that my god-character is level55 and mage is lvl43, I think. So it isn't like you just run out and kill stuff with zero effort.

*SPOILER* IF YOU DON'T WANT TO READ ABOUT CRAFTING, ETC ETC. STOP READING. THE FOLLOWING TEXT DESCRIBES SOME HELPFUL TIPS ON HOW TO LEVEL UP BLACKSMITHING, ENCHANTING. *SPOILER*

For a "quick" way of levelling enchanting in the beginning, try and get a hold of a weapon which captures souls. You gain enchanting skill by recharging weapons. There are also traits in enchanting and conjuration which helps with this. Note that it is not worth enhancing your conjured weapons if you also go down the path of blacksmithing as you will be able to make better weapons. If you find a weapon that steal souls you can disenchant it and then add the effect to your own weapons. Also hunt down animals with a cold-hearted determination as leather is the key to quickly max out blacksmithing. You essentially make tons of leather bracers(the most cost effecient piece of gear). Then when you're done, hopefully you've found a piece of gear that improves smithing which allows you to enchant your own gear with it. Add in a blacksmithing potion and you'll be able to make very impressive gear, indeed. Note that you won't get the truly badass potions untill higher levels BUT if you fancy abit of alchemy you can sort that bit out yourself.

Another, more profitable way of raising your smithing skill is finding a dwarf hold, looting all the dwarf metal for smelting and then forging dwarven bows. Makes a ton of money and raises your smithing skill faster than leather items.
