Oh, he is one of those highborn Shevael thought to to himself as Indoril had his little speech what a bad preformance he certainly is lacking conviction , a true actor would never of say down it diminished the preformance he should of remained standing in the middle attracting maximum attention in the spotlight

Slightly interrupted by January, Shevael vaguely nodded his head in agreement before following Mythas as he went to see the location.

---------------------------------

Standing upon the same roof as Mythas, Shevael was completely unfazed by the rain if anything he seemed to be enjoying himself through completely sodden wet
"What wonderful weather it is wouldn't you say Mythas, it reminds me of my time spent at sea ah good times..... Well mostly anyway.

So how dustracting should this distraction you need be need, attracting attention is what I do best I'm sure I can cause enough ruckus so you can sneak in and out unit unnoticed to deal with that hydra.

Good thing my guns and ammo are water proof I would hate to be caught unprepared by the weather for the show must go on"[/b]

Mythas squinted irritably through the rain. Weather always annoyed him, especially bad weather. Wrong city to live in but never mind.

"Problem with distractions is that then something looks amiss.. so whatever distraction you make is going to have to look like normal day to day activity, yet still distract the majority of the guards... Any ideas?"

--------

A shutter in the huge mahogany door slid open and a beady pair of eyes looked through the small opening. Even without a face the expression of the owner was obviously one of anger. Seemingly Mythas' distaste of the weather extended just beyond him.

"The owner of this house has not ordered anything of any kind. If, and that's IF, he did; I would be the first person to know. And I do NOT" The voice was a high, shrill nasal voice. Just as abruptly as the shutter opened, it slammed shut.

Indoril was upon the roofs of surrounding buildings, hooded cloak thrusting his eyes into darkened shadow. He sighed irritably as he shifted his shoulders uncomfortably; the wet cloak was heavier than normal, a hindrance when it came to a fight, as it doubtless would. And against creatures such as a hydra, half a second could be between life and death.

With water dripping off the rim of his hood, the elf glared at the place where the building met the ground, searching for entrances and weak spots. 'I could really do with an external cellar entrance' he thought sourly, shrugging his shoulders once more. He circled the building twice searching, and then again whilst concentrating on the roof and upper floors, more specifically ways to access the roof and windows.

Arkeith nodded at Mythas.

"Well it's my first time working with such illustrious company so I shall meet you there Mythas...but tell me the directions as I'll make my own way there."

----------------------

Arkeith made his way to the target mostly by street, a single hooded figure attracted little attention, such a sight was not rare.

However once closer to his destination the swordsman carefully made his way to the rooftops, seeking out the Mythas.

Soon enough Arkeith saw the elf, seeing Shevael had also beat him there.

It would appear I am last to the party.

Leaping onto the same roof as the others, slipping slightly on landing but managing to keep quiet.

He smiled faintly and turned his face upwards, feeling the rain against his face.

Slippy and cold but for all that I do like the rain. he thought to himself.

Turning his mind back to buisness his smile vanished and he knelt down next to the others.

"At least the weather will afford us some cover." he said softly, his voice only barely reaching the two Druchii above the rain.

January sighed and thumped on the door again.
"Important package for the head of the house from unknown sender! Delivered with a pouch of gold and instructions for the messenger to take it straight to the head of this house!"
She winced as a loose tile hit the street further down the road. It seemed the wind was getting up... or someone was less than experienced with rooftop navigation. Either way, she wanted to get out of the weather as soon as possible.
"Can I at least wait for a reply out of this blasted rain! This package isn't going to stay dry for long!"

Mythas gave Arkeith a cursory glance, still somewhat confused as to why the two newcomers were looking to him for authority.

"Looks like that's all this weather is going to offer us, apart from a bad cold." he said smiling drily.

He reached out pointing a gloved finger. "Over there, the wall is slightly damaged, the spikes on the fence are not as lethal as the rest. I reckon with enough thick clothing we can make it over that section over the wall. So the only challenge is to reach that section of the wall... I'm going to find a close roof top. There's always one or two who get past planning permission."

And with that he straightened up stiffly and trudged miserably across the rooftops, hands deep inside his pockets, shoulders hunched, not bothering to run, hopping across the narrow streets, before he disappeared into the gloom, along with the misshapen silhouette of Sylvia.

------------------

The Manse was particularly well built on ground level. Evidently the architect had the idea of repelling a full ground assault in mind when designing the walls. The walls, built from solid grey slabs of granite, thickened as they reached the ground, giving the unnerving appearance of the whole building slowly rising out of the earth like some colossus. The Rain prevented that actual building itself from being seen in any great detail, other than it's large, square appearance. There were, however, several sewage hatches dotted around the street, seemingly displaying the heraldry of some patron or other, evidently trying to show off his wealth. It seemed the sewage system here was very expansive.

------------------

An over-dramatic sigh was heard from the other side of the great door.

"Very WELL then if you insist" The elf's habit of accenting random words mid-sentence grew irritating fast, as if his tone wasn't bad enough.

After a moment's pause, small side door slid open, revealing the owner to the beady pair of eyes and the irritating voice. He was rather old, hair beginning to silver but attempting to be hidden in the typical "deny I'm growing old" fashion. The elf was painfully painfully thin, and didn't seem to be able to support himself without the solid gold stick he leant heavily on with both hands, hunched over. He was dressed in a cloak and simple clothing, trimmed with gold and lined elaborately with fur, quite wealthy indeed.

"Show me this package then..." he sneered, upturning his nose instinctively

The realisation hit Indoril suddenly, and he almost lost his cold composure. Cursing silently, he spat into the thickening downpour. To his left, in the murky half-distance, he saw vague shapes move, and the tantalising echo of a whisper. 'Damned rain. Shooting in this would be a nightmare,' he told himself, an irked edge to his own internal voice. With a grunt, he reached up and pulled his hood down further over his eyes in a vain attempt to protect from the driving rain. So drenched was the fine cloak that it had at least doubled in weight, had moulded itself to his back and no longer absorbed water - instead, it ran down his back in rivulets. After a minute of fiddling with his cloak and hood, the Druchii could put it off no longer; the best way to enter unobserved had to be the sewers, even if it was probably, simultaenously, the worst for his ego. 'If Mythas found out ...' Indoril couldn't even finish the thought, so humiliating was it.

Slowly, he made his way down to street-level, eyes flashing bright purple in the light of periodic, golden-glow lanterns, a cruel, hard edge even in such soft light. It also helped to accentuate his high cheek-bones and generally noble face, although all high-born grace was lost as he hunched against the wind. 'Humiliating ...' The thought flitted sourly through his thoughts repeatedly; too far for him to grasp and quash, but close enough to occur to him constantly.

Indoril only broke from this repetitive thought process when he reached one of the sewer hatches, and he studied it intently, trying to make out the heraldry upon it to see if it was recognisable.

The Heraldry was a simple coat of arms, two stripes in one half of the shield, and a serpent eating its tail in the other half. The sewers cover looked heavy, but manageable.

Right I'm off prepare for the best distraction ever running and jumping to the nearest building sliding down to the streets

Making his way to the manse he gazed around the street in front of it for a perfect target ginning as he saw it directly opposite the manse were a group of guards huddled around a burning brazier while walking towards Shevael were a group of corsairs their cloaks wrapped around them,

Adjusting the chain around his arm until it was mostly wrapped around his hand like a gauntlet Shevael quickly turned as the Corsairs were passing him by striking the nearest one in the head
"You Bastards!!!!! how dare you steal from me!!!" He cried loudly before hitting another "I am Shevael Redmane I'll make you vermin regret it, once I'm done with you, I'll make you crawl to the whores you call mother"

Standing back ready for the retaliation Shevael grinned hoping his loud outburstwas attracting attention from the everyone around the manse and that the others were taking advantage of his distraction

The guards glanced over irritably. They looked at each other, then two or three went over, leaving two at the post at the gate.

"Hey, scum! take your petty fights out of here, we don't want your type near this area, go and sort your dispute out elsewhere or we'll sort it out for you"

The impromptu leader of the group drew his sword to prove his point.

-------------------

Mythas glanced down and noticed the brawl. He cursed explicitly. he was meant to wait for us to actually find a way into the damned place before making a fool of himself!

Panicking slightly, knowing how little time he had now, Mythas started running along the rooftops, attempting to find some way to reach the wall. A couple of times his feet departed from under him as he accidentally trod on a sheet of black ice or a badly built tile shattered under his tread, and Mythas cursed as he was bruised slightly again and again.

Suddenly he spied a tavern sign post, jutting out from the building. Running along it, before really thinking properly, he launched himself off the sign towards the wall. He impacted the wall too low, knocking the breath out of him, and before he knew it he was sliding down the wall slowly, despite his best efforts to scramble up. Failing around, Mythas jamned his Epeiu into a crack in the cement, which thankfully slammed in home. Mythas now hung precariously off his epeiu 60 feet off the floor.

Mythas took a deep breath then shakily pulled himself up onto the handle, balancing delicately. He really hoped the handle could take his weight. Now balancing on the weapon, Mythas reached up and managed to grab the ledge where the iron bars at the top of the wall started. Pulling himself up, wincing in pain, he reached down and withdrew the weapon with much force. Slowly he started shimmying across, using the tiny foothold of the ledge to stand up, trying to find the traversable part of the iron bars.

Shevael turned as the guard drew his sword
"Mind your own business you cowards or I will deal with you next" kicking one of the fallen corsairs as he tried rising whilst quietly unwinding the chain around his arm readying himself for when the guards got too close

After a couple moments thought he grabbed the nearest corsair pushing him hard at the guard with the sword drawn hoping to knock him over

The corsair, through some stroke of bad luck, impaled himself straight through the sternum on what must have been a lavishly sharpened sword. The guard looked down irritably and kicked the twitching corsair off.

"And now you've ruined a perfectly clean sword. You've angered me enough now, there's only so much insulting I'll take."

The guard gestured roughly, and his two companions pulled out their spears, lowering them towards Shevael, either side of him.

"Now kindly follow me and I'll find a suitable way to punish you."

OOC: be careful before you act Shavael, you have to make it "every day"

January entered, undisguisedly glad to be out of the rain.
"The package is here, gold pouch is here. I have to return and vouch for its arrival in the intended recipients hands."
She looked at the old elf with a sly look on her face. In actuality, she was taking the opportunity to familiarise herself with the foyer, but she kept her gaze on the elf.
"Are you the head of the house?"
She removed the package from beneath her robes, careful to avoid dripping on it. It was a long box, wrapped in brown paper. The lack of any labels other than the delivery instructions was pre-eminent.

You bastards!!!! Shevael cried in a very beliavble manner as he saw the corsairs's death

Are you really going to stand for this" he addressed the remaining corsairs in a most convincing and inspirational speech "ok we have our differences but it is none of their business he killed your comrade are you really going to let him get away with it" pointing at the guard with the sword drawn
"How bout we deal with these cowards then afterwards I shall make it up to you all by buying the drinks all night to honour your fallen comrade after which we can continue with our differences if you still want want too

So what do you say???

Finishing his speech hoping the corsairs would follow him readying his pistols in case they didn't still in a downpour of rain

The old elf gave January a brief once over glance.

"Well I'm as close as YOU are going to get, sweetie." he muttered with a slightly unnerving glint to his eye as he looked just below January's neck. He swallowed slowly, his tongue poking out slightly as he licked his lips.

"So hand the package over and be off with you."

------------------

The corsairs glanced at Shevael, the guards which out armed and outnumbered them, and the large, low castle they guarded behind them. It was clear they were badly over matched. No amount of alcohol is worth their lives. They drew their skinned cloaks around their necks and walked off silently. It wasn't like accidental death was rare in the life of a corsair anyway, and the unfortunate who had just died was the runt of the group.

The guard captain sneered.

"You expected the people you attacked to assist you? What new kind of fool do we have here?"

He turned to the other guards.

"Take him inside the castle to the dungeons." he snapped.

"Bloody cowards!!!" Shevael cried out to the retreating Corsairs before turning to the guard

"I am an idiot so what do you expect" he replied casually shrugging "Oh well go on then I surrender" raising his hands in the air

Buggerhe thought if I try killing them it will attract too much attention oh well at least it's an easy way of getting inside without raising the alarm I can always try escaping later

January narrowed her eyes.
"'Proof of delivery to the head of house required for final payment.' I intend to be paid."
She tucked the package back under her sodden robes, snidely adding a falsly seductive hook.
"There's not much I won't do for coin."

The guards advanced slowly deeper into the castle, the large gates opening only a fraction of their size to allow them through. The group walked past January before taking a turn into a damp, mossy entrance that had a very, very long flight of stairs leading down.

The castle itself glistened softly in the rain, being briefly illuminated by lightning, almost comically stereotypical "evil" by human standards, weather notwithstanding.

The guards stood behind Shevael, and the captain barked another order.

"Down!"

-----------

The old man faltered slightly at January's sudden seductiveness, and shook his head abruptly. He took a lavish coin purse out from his robes and handed her a generous amount of coin.

"That should be plenty for the package. If you want to earn coin... any other way, meet me in the "Sleeping Dragon" in four hours."

January tilted her head slightly as Shavael was taken past, but gave no indication of recognition. Looking at the purse she was being offered, she weighed it against another she withdrew from within her robes.
"Suddenly I feel a lot more inclined to leave the package in your care. Still, my superiors will come down on me like a tonne of bricks if I don't have the head of the house's signature. Is there any way you could... procure that for me? Just so I can 'remember' giving the package to him?"

The elf smirked.

"Your employers are incredibly stupid." he laughed, procuring a stamp from a nearby cupboard. The stamp looked like it had been carved out of bone. Wealthy employer..

Stamping a piece of paper, he handed it back to January.

"Perfect copy of the signature, there you go."

Well this is awkward thought Shevael as he was lead into the castle walking past January failing to recognise her I was just meant to be a distraction not to try enter it oh well at least I can have try subduing this hydra I wonder where it is????

Shevael started making his way down the stairs a grin on his face before he addressed the guards
"So friends how far down is my room???I hope there is a large comfy bed I sometimes have trouble sleeping..... there wouldn't be a nice warm meal as part of the package as well would there I am suddenly feeling rather hungry"

I wonder if any of the others got inside as well he thought before humming to himself rather annoyingly

Shevael was promptly shoved into a small, damp, unlit cell. No windows, nothing for company save the moss growing in the dripping ceiling.

"Enjoy your stay." spat the guard before closing the thick wooden door with a loud groan, the bold on the other side ramming shut. Shaveal was plunged into utter pitch darkness.

Arkeith had watched Shevael's frankly insane actions from the rooftops and then as he started a fight which the idiot then promptly lost and got himself captured.

"Well I suppose that get's him inside...although I don't think it fits within the inconspicuous parameters setb our current employer." Arkeith thought to himself then shrugged slightly.

Straightening up he rolled his shoulders and started walking in the direction Mythas had last headed in to see if the other Assassin had found an entrance yet. The knight moved slowly and quietly, currently caution preceded any need for haste.

Indoril sighed once more, and looked around, to ensure he was alone - he would not allow Mythas to learn of what he was about to do, if it was within his power. He gripped the edge of the sewer entrance and tugged.

'Come on; damnable thing!' he thought irritably as he did so.

Mythas slowly ebbed his way around the outside of the wall, the ledge he was standing on was barely half a foot wide, he had to pin himself to the wall to not fall off. Through the gloom he spotted Arkeith ambling along the roof tops. Gesturing to him, Mythas pointed to his right, then around and to him, hopefully indicating how he got there. He, almost sincerely to be honest, hoped the elf actually made the trip.

-------------

As Indoril struggled at the manhole cover, it creaked loudly but sadly didn't budge. There was a small slot on the side for leverage however, obviously the thing was designed not to be opened without mechanical assistance. Perhaps something could be found nearby..
