As I am planning the creation of a Sylvanian-esque von Carstein army, I was hoping to include Ghouls within my force. However, according to background material ghouls were driven out of Sylvania by Count Mannfred von Carstein. As a result I was hoping to create units of crazed looking villagers. What sprues would you recommend that I should combine to create them?

flaggelents would be my first thought. such great models, and you can make them look very brutal/cannibalish.

i used kroot from 40k and converted them to have splintered bones, rocks, knives, blades, etc for my ghouls.... then i broke down and got some of the new ones (i didnt want), but ended up liking them

I second Empire Free Company. Add Ghoul hands/forearms and heads to them, maybe one or two hunched ones using the Ghoul legs and bodies (but don't go mad), and you should be able to knock out some quite decent looking figures.

Inspired by the Ghoul/Flagelant idea, I made this ugly chap. I just cut away the round joints of the arms (making them flat).
Now I think I'll do all my ghouls like this (adding chains and such as well of course).

That does actually look really good, it gets rid of the down falls of the ghoul models and makes them look like I imagined. If only I had seen this before assembling all my ghoul models, godammit!!

looks like I know what to do with my leftover flaggelant parts as well now! This is an absolutely brilliant idea!!!!!!

Just did five of them and they look great! Just need a little bit of green stuff here and there and they are damn near perfect! They fit in well with the actual Ghouls as well!!!! Im just grateful for the idea since now I have 15 ghouls, all that I wanted! Thanx so much for the brilliant idea!

I concur wholeheartedly. Those are nice. Unfortunately I can't rip the idea off since I've already used Flagellants for two units in my army, but they are undeniably awesome. Well done!

Thanks for that Dark Sheep, they look pretty nice, and I think I may end up doing a conversion like that. However, some green stuff work will be needed to have a seamless transition from the chest to the arms.
