Am i right in thnking that the Corpse Cart cant use his ramdom acctacks (2D6) if he is attacking to his flank

The beasts can only fight enemies to the front, which would be the restless dead. Why did they make it a chariot?

Yeah, you would think the whole "dead reaching out to the grab the living part" would suggest attacks to the side. But honestly. If your CC is getting charged in the flank, things are already spiraling down the crapper. Seeing as your cart should be behind your lines doing what is does best. Supporting the troops up front...

Or better yet, sitting on your shelf enjoying retirement. It never should have been a chariot.

I disagree about sitting on the shelf. It still has a place as a support unit. With all the easy augments we can get off giving troops ASF comes in real handy. Just depends on your build.
