Thank you! How do you mean "strange"? I'd love to improve it, but I'll need more than that :P

I'm afraid I don't know what Phoenix is, other than the mythological bird, but somehow I think you are referring to something else…

Whoops! Sorry you didn't understand the reference to the Phoenix. It doesn't matter anyway, but about the 3rd bottom image:

-The guy's head is slightly too small lengthways. His helmet of plate, I assume, is thick, so in proportion to his body, without his armour, this guy will have quite a small head compared to other models of his size (unless his chin is in his gorget). But this is very subtle; maybe you meant it to be that way. It's not a fault at all, but the guy just doesn't look like the average human for his size. In a way, it looks pretty cool, as most of the humans bodies' proportions are the same old, same old when it comes to GW figures.

Ah, I see now, thanks for explaining. The whacky proportions were not intentional, they are just because I messed up, but I'm glad you think it works anyway :) His arms and upper body are too long and the shoulders probably too wide as well. And the pants would never stay in that shape. The mini is full of faults actually  I'll make sure my next sculpt makes more sense, but I'll let this guy be a bit strange looking. He is an experiment anyway.

He is almost done now, by the way. Added a sheathed dagger and a halbeard, and started carving a small plinth from foam. Just the right hand left to make, then he's done. Pictures coming soon!

Painted the gold on the Warmachine dude, and did some touching up on the armor, cloak and reds.

Fiddled a little with the gold, painted the remaining metals in a blue-grey color, and dirtied down the white slightly.

English isn't my first language so maybe I'm misunderstanding, but do you mean that it is bland? Assuming you're talking about the halberd and not the dagger, there are two bolts on the head that don't show so good in the photos, but otherwise, yeah, maybe it looks a bit like a fat slug with its mouth around the shaft end. Any suggestions as to what I should do with it?

My first thought was: Nice, a reasonably size weapon for once. But then I thought that maybe it is a tad too small, or least the spear tip of the halberd. It also looks a little odd being as crocked as it is, but I'm guessing you intended it so. Anyway, I feel that it would look cooler if you straighten the tip out and made it a little longer.

But all in all, it is a very nice sculpt

Really like the shine on the gold armour there on the horse.
Great work on the cape for that sculpt, just a bit of a piety about his arms, the confuse me the longer I look at them.

Sooooo, any Smaller Game legal models planned in the future for sculpting? :perv:

Thanks for the feedback, everyone! I decided to keep the blade but change the spear tip. Used the end of a round toothpick to get an even point.

Also painted the last details on the Drakhun, the straps on the horse and the ventilation-looking things on the rider's smokestack, lower arms and shield.

Only the base left now, plus maybe some more touch-ups.

@ Duke Dance Macabre: About your last question, I was actually planning to go bigger for my next sculpt, real 54mm instead of miss-measured 54mm, to be precise… but sometime, maybe. I don't know anything about casting though, so if I ever get good enough at sculpting to sell I'd have to use some casting service, which would put the price very high for the small amount of casts that would be sellable. In case that was what you were asking

Glad you like it, Burnanation!

Here's the base:

I've also began painting the guardsman sculpt, but I don't think I'll take any WIP pics, as he is very glossy right now. My black paint is the problem, I'll have to replace it. Anyway, when he's varnished and matte and nice I'll show him :)

Thanks!

Here's another for eBay:

Pretty tedious model, mostly because I'm not used to the size, but I think it turned out ok. Working on a Mutalith Vortex Beast as well, also for selling. It should be done in a few days.

Thanks guys! The base is really simple, I cut a piece of foam about 7 mm thick, then broke it to pieces and glued them to the plastic base. It could be made more interesting with stones of different heights, and some sand and gravel for texture, but it works for quick bases.
