Working on a new Dark Elf army

Working out color scheme I want to use for them.


Debating between the red on the armor or the pink on the armor





Some have said to have the red highlight up to the pink as well.

I say go with red, it makes the model stick out a bit more.

The red does look miles better but i would say to darken it down a bit as well, they are a bit too bright for DE atm in my eyes.
I know its still just testing and very rough with no washes etc but Mephiston red may be a closer match and looks allot more like dried blood as well.

I prefer the red above the pink. Will the armour colour be coming back on the scales on the cloak as well?

Red looks better. Nice for you to dress them up for dinner with the vampire counts! Either way, dark elves are tasty. Nom nom!

I'm going to be the dissenting voice here and say that with a little bit more shading/ highlighting I think the pink would look the best.

Given the shades of the purple the pink presents a much more holistic image whereas the red doesn't really seem that compatible with that particular shade of purple. Sure the look's a little more old school but i think it'll shape up nicely.

Definitely liking the red to pink, very snazzy, and goes well with the purple.

Here's the Corsair standard bearer. He's not done yet. Going to touch up the skin a bit, and I will be doing some freehand work on the banner. Not sure what yet.

I got a bunch of bases painted enmasse today. A lot easier to do with the technique I am using for the marble effect.


First group of guys together, to get a sense of how they look as a group.
