Ok I know how it sounds, but it is not my intention to diminish those beloved pointy-ears humanoids.

Just to ask for this:

Can a... High Elf Prince wear:

Dragon Armour and a Magical Heavy/light Armour to recieve a 3+/4+ AS?

I'm guessing:

- Dragon Armour
- Glittering Scales
- Shield
- Barded Elven horse
- Other goodies / magical weapons

So in other words... we'd be dealing with a 1+ As, 6++, Fireborn and "nurgle" powers and with a ton of points in magic weapons? (star lance, perhaps)

Is this possible / legal?

The rule is "a model can only have one suit of armour and one shield, so if you give a model a magical suit of armour or a magical shield, it replaces any mundane equivalent already worn by the model (pg 502)"

There is nothing in the High Elf book around the Prince entries that says they can break this rule that I can see.

- Dragon Armour
- Enchanted Shield
- Barded Elven horse

...would give him a 1+, 6++, 2++ vs flaming

Yeah, I was talking to my buddy here and it seems that a Dragon Armor is some kind of special "Heavy armor", just like any Chaos Armor.

At first I thought it worked like the Sea Dragon Cloak (since the Dragon Armor has no armor type, like Heavy / Light, etc), and since GW has no name for... dunno, Breast Plate or so, it's kinda hard to tell from helmets, cloaks, shields and suits or armor.

Thanks =)

this is correct. dragon armor is heavy armor with a 2+ ward against flaming and a 6+ ward so if you equip magical armor you cant use dragon armor on the same model.

Seriously, I have no clue how people still manage to mess up the rules about armour, armour parts like helmets and shields and so on. A suit of armour a model comes equipped with or which it slects from the army list entry gets replaced as soon as it 'buys' a magical suit of armour from the magic items section, except in the case of helmet, shields or other obvious 'add-ons' like the Nightshroud for example.
Even the rules for something like a Lion Cloak or Sea Dragon Cloak are crystal-clear, and I've begun to bitch-slap players who're still trying to stack a magical suit of armour on top of heavy armour in their lists ...

I got confused at first only because the Dragon Armor had no armor type (Heavy Armor / Light armor, for example).

Then, I remembered that a Chaos Armor has none either and that's when I realized that it was a suit of armor, not an add-on, like the Sea Dragon Cloak.

It wouldn't hurt to use such nomenclature for every piece of equipment:

The Black Axe of Krell: Magical Great Weapon. Period. No need to give it the "+ Str and ASL" in the entry. It should be very simple!! D:

Dragon Armor: Heavy Armor with...

Anyways, I learned my lesson.

Aww, sorry if I came across like that Sunny.
My ire wasn't directed at a poster in this thread, but at the exact sort of people that try to rulesbend and cheat at store games or tournaments in the described manner. Hoping to use the ignorance of their opponent to gain an advantage.
That's just the snot-nosed sort of player I can't stand (and won't).

Like others stated NO, the only thing HE can do however is boost their invulnerable saves through their High Magic lore attribute with +1 to a maximum of 3++
Note that in the case of dragon armor this would not become 5++ as it is only against flaming attacks. I've seen people mess around with this too.:rolleyes:

I play HE and they are a lot squishier than the previous edition which is good IMO.

This is not quite correct. In the case of dragon armor the ward against flaming attacks is a 2+ which wont benefit from the high magic law attribute but dragon armor also has a 6+ normal ward which does benefit from the high magic law attribute so can be increased to a maximum of 3+. I also play high elfs and i dont think they are any more/less squishy than last edition
