Do the Vamps hate Nagash?

no Nefetara created them using one of Nagash's Books of the Dead, and i dont think he ever 'screwed them over' well, not badly at least

Yeah, Nagash dominated them and had control over them and made them do thing they wouldn't have normally done. I think the Necrarch might still like him, but the others are fearful of his return and ar not looking forward to it.

i must say ive always found it rather amusing that the only place ive ever found a reference to vampires being controlled by Nagash was in the Rule Book :lol: you wouldve thought something that major would have at least been included in the army book

Theres an artifact of Nagashes that a vampire finds and trys to use its powers, which control the minds of vampires and the vampire tries to create an army. A "friendly" vampire counciller dispises him for it, so perhaps its abit like that.

I believe in the liber necris it says that nagash was making them do his bidding (don't remember how excactly) and then when they figured a way out of it he cursed with not being able to stand sunlight. Someone could come along and flessh that out with the details and such tha'd be nice.

From memory it had something to do with Vashanesh and his ring. Vashanesh purposefully lost a dual (in a similar manner to Vlad in the first of the vampire trilogy) which broke the enchantment. Nagash wasn't fooled however, and cursed the vampires, so that they are weaker/die in sunlight. There may have been something else to the curse too.

Anyway that's just from memory, I'm sure someone else will be able to flesh it out even more.

Buy the old Undead army book on ebay. Lots of great fluff and history in there.

The Von Carstein ring was originally a means for Nagash to try to control the vampires through Vashanesh. Vashanesh knew this to be the case and went out of his way to successfully break the curse of the ring and utilise its regenerative abilities for himself. Nights Dark Masters details this in great depth.

The curses which affect Vampires were all done when none of the Vampires answered Nagashs call to join in the fight against Sigmar for the Crown of Sorcery.
