Sure, I convert.

I try to limit myself though. When I have an idea for an interesting conversion, I try to not leap into it for at least a week or so. Often in the past, I have whipped something up, and in a couple of months time I am scrawling through my army box and find my conversion and think "what the hell was I thinking?":D

I convert all the time:mrgreen:It's just so damn fun for me, it's getting a bit out of hand sometimes (like with my Tzeentch Daemons...), but I always really enjoy it:)

I actually buy new green stuff about every other month... Apart from getting high from the smell, it's really fun sculpting your own stuff:D

Actually, my biggest conversion to be, would be a Winged Nightmare, should I decide to go with it. Countess Anastasia Von Carstein would be riding. I already have her, I'm using the mounted Bretonnian Lady.

I hate the current model for the WN, so I'd do what the actual counts do...I'll scavange various bits from various Warhammer armies. A wing here, a torso there, a cauldron or two of green stuff and pins, a lightning storm...and my Countess will ride in style.

...still deciding if having a second Count on a WN is worth it in 3000 pts. My general will be on foot.

Yes I convert a lot when it comes to characters as you then have sovething other than a paint job which seperates them from other models, its also an ideal way to push and practice sculpting with green stuff.

here are two examples from my lizardman army.

Hi there

Im very strange and cant stand the thought ao having a model that looks the same as someone els so therefor i convert every single model in my army. Yes thats right every single one. its a shame im not that great at it really! ;)

I have made some converted Zombies ( Female Zombies, the not-so-original-but-very-fun-to-make legless Zombie, and some other minor conversions. )

I also plan on making my Vampire Thrall with this model as a base :

The dude on the left.

I dont like the standard Vampire models alot, except for the Blood Dragons and the Von Carnsteins.

And I wonder if I should get a Mordheim Plague Cart as a Black Coach ( Not that I intend un using a Black Coach but enfin... )

But.. Its fun, so why not!

do you have a chose with the curent VC models? and yes my full VC army is converted.....most of it is not done by me tho, since i bought a full tourny army(a really nice looking one i most say)......only thing i have really done sofar is a spirit host, some characters and some zombies.....and i also have a smal batch of zombies built by Danceman

for my orcs i have not done all that mutch converting yet, but a few things here and ther and fixing up stuff i dont like and a few weapon swops.......but i do have a few plans for conversions, including rebuilding a wolf chariot to a boar chariot, an orc great shaman on wyvern(based on my old forest dragon model), a giant, a unit of savage orcs(made from plastic boxed set) and a unit of save boarboyz(built from random boar riders, old, new, common orc boar dudes and my bit box)

as for pics on my VC, i will take a few tomorrow when day light arrives and post a thread in the "painting blog" forum

I absolutely love to convert (and paint)... probably more than actually playing.

I've converted a Black Coach, Wight Lord, and am working on more for the future

Hell yeah i convert, im making a vampirecounts skaven army at the moment and every model is converted, except some of the plague monk zombies who look dead enough anyway
pics of my army are here
well, the first 40 zombies anyway, and they havnt been painted. i've finished another 20 zombies (well, assembled them, im gonna start painting this weekend) but i havnt posted pics since only Sid has been interested so far and i can just pm him pics
now im working on a warlock engineer necromancer, and saving up to make a black bell (screaming bell that works like a black coach, gonna be one helluva conversion :D )

Seth > right-on! with that undead steed! I had a similar thought with Bretonnian barding... and lately, I've been contemplating how I can do something similar to make a unit of empire knights that don't look like they're riding ponies when placed next to one of the new mounted characters or pistoliers!

Wow coming from you! Thanks!

I only did it because I had a spineless skeletal steed and a headless empire horse in my bits box. I think I was just waiting for my Daemonettes to dry and got bored.

This is also a great thing about conversions. Making things out of otherwise useless parts.

(I can't for the life of me remember why I cut the nightmares spine off though...)

Yep I convert. Currently I'm playing Army of Sylvania. All of the Skelletons and Zombies are basically head, hand, and foot swaps with empire state troopers. I will probably need to do another regiment of Zombies soon, as I always seem to be running out of those. I do however have all the skellies I'll ever need (hopefully) 72 fully converted, with musicians, champs, and stnd. Black Knights are also convereted, just head, and weapon swaps there, I don't really care for the skeletal steeds.

Eventually I'd like to get some pics up for others to critque, but alas I find myself with out camera, or hosting.

Oh and I forgot to mention my converted (GS sclupting/adding to the inital kit) zombie giant).

Heres some of the Black Knights i've been working, i started out with Bret Knighs and did some swaps but didn't look quite right, so i took some old models i had lying around and broke out the green stuff.

Added some barding and cloaks. Think it adds quite a bit to the models. I'll try posting some pics when i have the whole squad painted up.

Images sadly lost to time

The cloaks and barding look superb, and the barding in particular does add a huge amount to the appearance. I'd love to see them once complete.

I do small conversions in some of my units to make them look more unique, but I never anything too big, like sculpting entire models.

About the same I do. A few different weapons, an arrow sticking through here and there, and so on...
