In regards to you last statement, about me moving to another land – I don’t see how that applies. I have said I am happy for immigrants to come here, providing they get jobs and pay their way, so what is your point?
This was a general question and you have given a good answer, so that would be my point. I am not here to point out that this and that person is racist. Also, I was referring to Rudd's email, not your statement, when I said it was unreasonable and ignorant. Now this email has turned out to be hoax but even so, I can't see why anyone would applaud this "courage" of his. Statements from a majority like this against a minority is not courage.
Again, I am 100% against sharia law. When you move to a country you adhere to their laws.
Concerning cheating taxes and such, I think immigrants are just an easy pick for a larger problem. Let's not pretend the western world have sowed plenty of seeds of which have grown to into a rather ugly world, which is why I do not like the way it is potrayed in this thread that they chose to come here(wherever it is). It is not much of a choice when the country you've grown up in is turmoil and poverty.
We're all human, we just happend to be born in different places. Which is why I think it is good we see this discussion about sharia law. What we should be able to do, and proudly, is reject poor idea's and sharia's law is a step back in time and have no place in our current day law system. So I would say speaking out against it is rational in the highest degree. I cannot see how you would enforce it side by side with another nations law systems, this feels like a very arrogant demand on their part. This position is what I think most hold here, what I opposed was the way his hoax-email was written as it took a distinct tribalistic position.
So I am not calling you a racist DoN and apologise if it felt I was putting you up against the wall but perhaps my approach was a bit strongarmed.
