It really is a good game.
At the sunderland store release party we had a ball trying it out, just a pretty standard "whoever lives, wins" game to get used to using the ships/ moving.

It's perfect for any games night and i am actually rather sad that this is a one off release. I am sure that our local gaming group will be making more ships for each fleet to prolong the fun of this game!

Good game, could of been bette with a wind gauge so we had creatures, the dwarf ship was a pain to put down. :P

If you fancy a laugh and not just a regular battle for once its great and not tonnes of stuff to get out either. :D
Mmmm, battle fleet Empire you say?...... Well if we can come up with campaign rules mate it sounds good, just wish there was a Dark Elf ship. :P

I think you could fairly easily make the high elf ship look dark elvish.
Im thinking about buying some more of some of the ships from ebay, particularly the swordfysh.

looking at the rules for it against Man O War it looks like it would be fairly easy to "update" the MoW lists to work with Dreadfleet, the only shame is that the old MoW models do look rather dated when put next to the new ones, and a smidge on the small side too. Still going to give it a try like...

The book I am reading atm is decent as well, some very big plot holes and allot of things are glassed over and basic level mistakes.....
Not as bad as the SoM book where under Vamp Pacts in the back where it listed the option for a Wight Lord..... Either we are getting one in our new book or my rage was justified at this typo......

There is one epic down side to the book however.
When Captain Jaego Roth speaks with Volkmar trying to secure the usage of his ship they discuss Count Noctilus where he makes it know that the Count is know to him and in fact his true name is..... (wait for it).......
"Count Nyklaus Von Carstein"

Yep you have it, Yet another Bloody Von Carstein.

Please for the love of all that is unholy, don't make another book about one damn bloodline and no you may not counter with only they were vampire counts thus the book name, You removed the Count option in the army book under the new edition, everything is lord this lord that now!

Played my first game lately

It was a draw! The Reaver sank and took the Heldenhammer with it.
And yes, I was controlling the Reaver.

i painted the bloody reaver for my local model shop the models are really nice i have not been able to play a game as of yet but a group of us have chipped in to buy the box set so i am hoping to have played a game by saturday i have flicked through the rule book an it seems easy enough to pick up it looks to be a pretty entertaining game

Got a copy and just finished making the ships up. Plaid at the local store against the manager and lost. Darn Roth. The game was fun and the modals all look great, real challenge with the moving of the ships. So I think that left me a little open more then one :grave:. Would have been nice if GW had left it open for more ships to be added later

Does anyone know how big the board is for this? I think it looks awesome! Just wondering how big it is and how big the pieces are.

It might be worth mentioning that it is not a traditional strategy type board either, rather more like a large table cloth. Pretty cool, but the drawback is that you need a large, flat surface underneath it. Not a problem for those of us with a gaming table in the house, but for those just buying the game it might be. A really large dining table might work.
