Hey folks,

Thought I'd start a log as I've started working on my army, First unit is my blood knights using chaos knights as the metal blood knights are a bit exspensive.

Comments and crits most welcome.

You say the metal ones are a bit expensive... But where did you get those heads from then?

Anyway... great looking knights. I knew those steeds were perfect for bloodknight conversions. The musician's horn is a little out of place, though. It looks way too chaosy.

I got the heads for nothing and yes I am jammy bugger, a friend bought the metal knights and he's not so keen on the winged helms so has decided to sculpt all the heads himself.

I like the horn, after all it doe's look like a dragons head but horses for courses I spose.

This is pretty similar to what I'll be attempting for my blood knights - i feel that the chaos knights look a lot more.... solid than any of the other plastic cavalry kits out there: perfect for a unit of vampires!

Looking forward to seeing these painted!

Spiky death. I am liking these alot. I wonder how the dark elf knight heads would look with these. What colors do you plan on painting them?

Vulf von Carstein, yeah as soon as I saw the new Chaos knights and saw how big and imposing they were I just knew I had to have them in my army somehow.

Skorne, I was considering the dark elf heads before my buddy offered me the metal blood knight heads so I think they'll work really well, painting wise I'm gonna go with red armour and barding and black steeds and maybe liche purple on the cloth, not very original but a safe bet.

Was considering making Black Knights out of the Chaos Knights but ended up going with the Marauder Horsemen because I liked the horses a lot more. So now planning on using parts from Grave Guard, Skeletons and green stuff to make some new fearsome black knights.

Hah, nice to see others use Marauder Horsemen for black knights I've had the same idea as well, for the Lances though I'm still not sure - Cold one Knight lances are great but I've not decided yet o:

I'll be making 18 Black Knights and 2 mounted Wight Kings with 2x Grave Guards boxes and 4x Marauder Horsemen boxes.

As for the Blood Knights - If I wasn't getting 5 Blood Knights for almost the same price as 5 Chaos Knights.. I'd go with Chaos Knights too haha.

I plan on using Skeleton spears for lances with the two handed blade instead of the spear tip. As for Blood Knights I'm going with Brettonian style mostly because they seem like more fun to paint and they will stand out more from the plated wights i n my army.

I ditto everything everyone else is saying about these wonderfully stunning models. Just thinking that getting a few ghoul heads and the horses. We'll call it "Ha GW, you thought you had me but I won." I can't wait to see them painted now too!
