So I've been working away on this army for the past few months now. I have been updating my progress on Warseer, when I recently found this little gem of a website and figured I might give it a try.

So here's a snapshot of the army:

And some close ups:

I have since finished the 40 Skeleton spearmen (shields, rust and all) so expect pictures of them sometime tonight.

I've also started work on some artwork I can use as the background for my army lists:

This is truly gold. It is very cleanly painted and the entire army looks very unified. May I ask how you did the bones?

And that art is coming along nicely. I hope you could finish it quick, but then you'd probably rush it. So... tak the time you need...

More progress on Mr Batwing (who will be replaced with the new Vampiress model for sake of ranking up and not tipping over):

And finally, more progress on the artwork:

I really enjoyed painting the old Lahmian models; absolutely gorgeous sculpts, clean lines, lots of nice open areas for blending.

Very very nice, I also want to know how you did the bones...

Must say despite it's size this blog is really great!

You are a very talented artist, both with a brush and with a pen.

The models are really nice, the blending on the vamps is superb and the bones of the skeletons look great.
The artwork too truely is worthy of being called art.

Well done,and keep us posted!

I have to say that these are amazing. I love the colours you have chosen.

I personally like the Grave Guard. So much character there. I want to know how you painted the bones as well. I have never seen bone painted as well as that.

And your artwork is just fantastic.

I was wondering if you used a white highlighting or are you using a grey highlight? Either way you've done a great job so far on your models. What will you be doing next? I see that you've gotten a great base for a skeleton force but are there any Ghouls or zombies on the way?

Teal:

Basecoat Regal Blue + Fiery Orange
Blend up with Bleached Bone
Wash with Baal Red

Bone:

Prime Skull White
Wash with Devlan Mud
Basecoat Menoth White Base
Blend up with Skull White
Wash with Gryphonne Sepia

The next Vampiress.

The cat is really intriguing. I just have to point out that it seems like every part of the model had infinite care given to it. Unlike my models, who usually just look good from table top. I am sure you have a talent unlike so many of us.

I just can't wait to see more of your pictures.

More updates, banner 1 of 5:

I'm going for a "stained glass" look, but obviously weathered and dusty so it's not as vibrant/cartoony.

DS: I concur, I could not agree more. The green on the armor looks great too. Little touches make everything just a tad better than status quo.

Been a while since I've updated; just been caught up with other things (chief among them "flipping" my room, as well as a new job).

But here's some updates. I've assembled the last batch of 40 Skeletons, and I've gotten some work done on the display tray for the army (which I will use for tournaments and the like).

You'll notice that I've gone with a different approach, narrow and deep as opposed to wide and shallow. I think it'll look quite interesting when it's finished.

And here you see 5 Bat Swarm blisters I will use as filler to darken the skies.

This is turning into one stunning army, beautifully painted and just as I like VC armies, full of skeleton warriors!

You're skills with pencil and paper are awesome too!

Oh my! This was truly impressing! At first I didn't think you would paint the banners, but when I scrolled down I was impressed once more. You are truly a very talented painter! The banner is awe inspiring and the artwork... I'm at loss for words.

keep up the great work, I will be following this plog closely. :)

Can't believe that I didn't notice this plog before now....

I love your colour scheme.. it is simple but oh so effective, it just works so well. I was going to suggest (very, very humbly mind you) that the white standards of the skeleton regiments seemed to me to be a little flat and plain, and that perhaps they would benefit more if they were a combination of the white and the blue/grey/green colour that makes up the army's colour scheme...

And then I saw the up close pic of the standard of the Grave Guard Standard Bearer, and quickly zipped my lips shut. Stunning, absolutely stunning :|

I also would like to say that your Lahmian Vampiresses are some of the best I have ever seen. I have several myself in my army, but am not happy with how I have done them. They lack detail in the faces and are flat. Seeing yours has inspired me to try to redo them somewhat and try to bring more of the detail of the sculpts out.

precisely my feeling too! I'm glad I scrolled down before answering! ;)
