I am attending a tournament in one week and the first round matchups were just posted. It turns out that I am playing against O&G. I am pretty sure this guy won the tournament last year and doesn't use Orcs (at all). Anyways, the first round was supposed to be End Times v End Times and 8th v 8th. I asked the TO about it and he said that 8th armies that include an End Times model count as End Times. So my question is, what units can O&G take from End Times? What do they do? How do I deal with them?

I can only recall Grimgor Incarnate of Beasts, he has a bound spell (level 6) that increases the strength and toughness of all OnG with 12". Other than that pretty standard fight versus OnG

Thanks. I hope that's all.

I was really excited at first because I am bringing Nagash and I will likely bring out all of his stupid fanatics on turn one with a giant line of zeds. I just wasn't sure what else to expect with ET.

That's all the ET love OnG got. But if he doesn't take Orcs, will that match up even be possible? Also, summon some Vargs on his Doom Divers fast. They'll be gunning for the Biggest Hat in Warhammer.

Yeah. I am counting on him scrolling the first casting. So I haven't decided if I am going to use Ryze to take out his doom divers first and then something else for his fanatics or vise versa. Either way, I will need a good first magic phase or double sixes on one of the spells. I have used Harbinger to summon a TB before and had pretty good results with killing war machines and fanatics.

And like I said, the guy who won 1st place last year had ZERO Orcs in his whole army. I didn't play against him but I think it was a ton of Night goblins, nets, fanatics, squigs, doom divers, and magic.

If formations are allowed, I would be prepared to face a combined Ogres + OnG force.

Elsewise, Grimgor's spell works on both Ogres and Orcs and Goblins and is a 12" bubble Wyssans Wildform. He's also a total monster on his own...T6 with a whack of S7 attacks with ASF iirc. Not sure if he has a ward save though, so tagging him with a vampire lord and a WK with the night shroud should take him down easy enough.

Otherwise just expect your usual Green Dwarfs with a bit more combat support. So big unit of savage orcs, probably some black orcs since I believe he upgrades a unit for free? Trolls. Double doom diver, double rock lobbah, double mangler. Probably some spear chukkas. Night goblins full of fanatics. The usual...

Ogres could really throw off my game plan and I am glad I asked because I would have been blindsided and might make some big mistakes. I am not expecting Orcs, but even if they do show up, they are easy enough to deal with. Squigs and Fanatics are also easy, I just need to decide whether to prioritize them or the doom divers first and since I already know that we will be playing Dawn Attack, that will definitely help. Hoping to go first regardless and have a really good first magic phase.

Perhaps it is worth mentioning that, if End Times magic is allowed, specifically End Times spells, beware Nikkit Nikkit! because it will strip Nagash off of all his magical items, and facing the Mortis Blade is no small thing.

However, just summon Blood Knights every turn possible and wreck the orcs/goblins/ogres (if able) :D

ET is not allowed, thankfully. I have a pretty good toolbox for summoning. The only I am short right now is about 5 Sepulchral stalkers.

I don´t know how this guys play, but with 30 something pts chukka, doom diver, catapults and so fort,i would watch the f^^^k out with Nagash looking splendid in the middle of the battleline

I understand, I just don't have anything to deal with him in combat, so I am going to have to rely on magic and summoning deal with him.

To be honest as an OnG player myself I dont really see the point in Grimgor, what he and his unit bring to the table for the points cost it just isn't worth it. You'd need 30ish BLorcs to make a decent sized retinue and then you are spending close to 850 points for something barely feasible without considering the core tax, magic defence or chaff, I mean for less than those points I could run a horde of 18 trolls and a Level 4 Gobbo Shaman with Dispel Scroll/Earthing Rod
