Hey all! :)

I noticed that there doesn't seem to be a thread for exams on here. I don't know how many of us have received results today, but I thought here would be a good place to congratulate those who got what they wanted or offer sympathies to those who didn't.

I've got my A Level results today, I got an A in Media Studies, an A in Music Technology and a B in English Language! The outcome of this is that I'm going to the University of Leeds in a few weeks to start a course in Television Production; I can't wait.

So to all those out there who have received exam results recently, I hope you got what you wanted! :)

I got mine together with my grades at the end of the school year, but strangely I somehow forgot that I had had exams in German (must have surpressed that) and I have yet to check it. The really bad thing is that I've misplaced all my papers, so in order to find out I have to ask at the school office -something that I'm too lazy to do...

I'm feeling quite old being as though the last time I received exam results was around 19 years ago, but congrats to those who are receiving theirs now and have done well, and commiserations to those who haven't done as well as they hoped..

Just as long as you don't lose sight of the big picture... first year of Uni/tertiary education should be a year full of much alcohol, debauchery, and merriment! :D

I nearly threw away all of my qualifications a couple of years ago when they inadvertently found their way into a skip, in amongst the mountain of rubbish that I had amassed over the years which I was determined to get rid of. Luckily, I retrieved them in time.

A friend of mine never collected his GCSE papers, or his A-Levels. Yet, he comfortably found his way into university and now enjoys a position as a software engineer with a lucrative London information company.

Or - they are not as important as you have perhaps been led to believe, although I would certainly advice picking them up regardless! :D

Well done Saint of Steel I came out with C in Photography D in Media Studies and D in Geography. They are not the greatest results ever but it still means I'm off all of 20 minutes down the road from Newcastle to Sunderland Uni to study Tv & Radio Production xD and as sunderland is where I wanted to go i'm not complaining

Eh, exams are only to sow how well that particular institution can teach towards exams :D trust me, i've done a lot of them.

I even got up to the level of doing a BA honors degree in Photography at University, but again, it sucked all of the passion out of the subject for me, I love to read and can go through books like nothing but studying English lit in College sucked the passion out of that too. Funny thing is, I was/am a better photographer than everyone at my college, and from the work I saw, everyone in my University classes too, but when they leave university with a piece of paper saying they have a degree in it, they're the ones that will be hired/have their folios looked at by companies :)

Mad World.

Congrats to anyone else who actually likes exams and stuff though :D

I'm, going to be starting my degree in Fine Art & Illustration at Lincoln on Monday, I hope it doesn't 'suck all the passion out' but it's a lovely place & I got on very well with the lecturer who interviewed me so all seems jolly & nice.

'cept all the other freshers will be teenyboppers, not grumpy old farts like me. Heh.

Edited cos it isn't 'tomorrow', thankfullly. I still have a few days grace to clear my house.

Hahaha true that! ;) My first year seems to be loaded with Basic National Economics... principles of democracy and social studies... Got some big exams coming up...

I recieved my results a few weeks ago but non the less i got a merit/distinction (merit first year, distinction for the second year) in civil engineering. :D

i started my HNC in Construction this week at Doncaster College...doesn't sound as exciting as you might think, but i get a day out of work, i get paid to by work to go there AND they are paying the rather substantial fee that comes with the course. total epic win for me there :P
