Foot-based 2400 list

Hi. After a long hiatus I am coming back to the hobby and I am undusting my minis. I was thinking on playing again my beloved undead, But I am unsure on the proportions.

Specifically, I am 40 points above the limit. Probably I could remove 4 minis from the infantry blocks, but I am unsure where exactly.

The general plan, in case it is not obvious, is to advance to the enemy line as fast as possible, using the Fell Bats, Hexwraiths and Varghluf to silence warmachines and raising isolated zombie units to block LoS and harass the enemy. The zombie block is intended to bunker the necro, while a vampire goes in each of the other blocks. I don't think it's safe to use my meager Black Knights unit to bus either of the vampires...

So, any advice? I usually play against dwarves or wood elves, so thats the reason for my anti-shooting obsession, but maybe I am unprepared against assault armies.


PS: I am unsure about the whole points cost issue. Can I post total values or is that forbidden? If so please let me know so I will edit this immediately.

Hey, welcome back. I think you need to cut out the black knight unit and fill out your grave guard if you want to run vampires on foot. The black knights are a bit out of place with no one to ride with and too small to support a bus. If you take black knights, commit to a blender bus.
Also lvl 2 vampires I often find aren't worth their points. You could drop in 12 grave guard and a banner of the borrows for the cost of your lvl 2 and be sure that unit won't crumble on an ogre charge.

I should probably drop the black knights. I am using that vampire in place of the previous second necro I was using. I feel safer having 3 casters for IoN and I thought that there is not such a huge points difference between a lvl2 necro and a lvl2 vampire, if said vampire can boost CR a bit.
