Yes you can. You can cast it unsuccessfully as many times as you have dice for. You cannot successfully cast it more than once a magic phase. If it is dispelled by dice or scroll, it was not successful.

No Lore of Fire is not recastable. Only Necromancy spells can be recast.

Daniel.

RE: Forbiden Lore(s)

I'm sorry, but you're wrong... The Lore of Fire can be recast UN-successfully as many times as you like...

If you try to cast a fireball, and they scroll it, then you can cast it again, if they use their dispel dice to dispel it next, you can cast it again, if they pull out a gigantic magic hammer of no fireballs please and stop your casting, you can cast it again...

You can not cast it if you have already SUCCESSFULLY cast it in that magic phase.

Example: You cast a fireball, it hits a unit of orcs, 5 orcs die. You cannot cast it again that phase because you have already cast it.

If it was dispelled, it was not successfully cast.

Nope reread the magic section on page 107 of the Main rule book.

"In a players magic phase, each of his wizards on the battlefield can attempt to cast each of his spells only once"

Hope that helps.

Daniel.

RE: Forbiden Lore(s)

I apologize, that line is in the magic session, which leads me to believe you're right.

Recent game vs Daemons led me to reexamine the BRB lores. He fields the (undefeated)following:

GUO Level 3, Flail + other stuff
Nurgle Herald BSB w/ Standard of (edited for accuracy) sundering
Nurgle Herald w/ Palenquin

2x20ish Plaguebearers Full Cmd
20 Bloodletters
4 Nurglings
2 Beasts of Nurgle
5 Fleshhounds

Those Plaguebearers just would not die. Neither would the freakin Beasts of Nurgle, of which one of them held up my bloodknights for almost 3 combat phases on one wound. Now I admit, I did some dumb things and lost on my own stupidity, but if I had used my Lord's forbidden lore and taken fire or shadows, things might have gotten interesting:

-He would have to make a tough choice, necromancy or fire/shadows for standard of sundering
-He would have had to hold all his few dispell dice back to stop a possible wall of fire going off on his plaguebearers, a pit of shades being dropped on his GUO or PB blocks or my Lord going Herald hunting with Flaming Sword of Rhuin.
-If he's scared of my fire spells, he'll let all my invocations, book of arkhan and ASF bounds go through when I need them.

I almost always opt to go for the Vampire lore. Only other lores I've considered taking are metal, beasts and now fire for those nurgle buttholes and their regen. I'm telling you know flaming attacks are making a comeback. The amount of regen vc and daemons can have it's almost crazy not to have anything that does some fire damage.
