Perhaps I'll put some of my writing skills to the test later, but for the time being here is a bit of what I have been working on when time allows(per request from another forum).

It's all very WIP and I'm still learning the ropes as a sculptor. I'm by no means an award winning painter, but I think that I have a few of the basics down.

My BSB and his unit of Grave Guard:

My WIP Fell Bats(these used to be Chaos Furies, then GW killed Bitz ordering and I could no longer order Slaanesh champion helmets for my warriors. I realized that these look very much like the Brides of Dracula from Van Helsing, and that I hate the Fell Bat models). Note that they have since been migrated over to 40mm square bases:

First time working on Chainmail, I think that I scrapped and re-sculpted the first set 8 times before finally coming up with something that at least made me a little happy. It's still not perfect by any means, but it looks good enough as far as I'm concerned:

More work on the Zombie Dragon, this time chainmail added to the other side, as well as real jewelers chain and some work on the Vampire(redoing the lower jaw) and wings.

Note that I've since removed the giant green stuff horn from the top of the dragons armor, and am replacing it with, well... I really don't know yet. I was thinking of cutting down a spare skeleton skull, attaching it to a small green stuff "base", and then painting it with a slight glow effect to make it look like it is an artifact that is keeping the dragon "alive"?

Absolutley fanatstic, your GS skills are excellent, you don't need to worry, all you conversions are very well done and the painting you have done is impressive as well, especially the shading a glowing eyes.

My favourite painted model has to the Banshee, what is that based on?

And I'm looking really forward to seeing the dragon painted.

@ The Dark Sheep: The metal base is a Necromunda model called "The Caller". A local guy had used it as a 50mmx50mm unit fillter in his Skaven Army, and I figured that with a little green stuff, some wings, and a different rider it could be made to look rather bat like. I still have to do some work with the head(going to make the ears a bit bigger) and extend some skin flaps fro the wings onto the hind legs, much like a bat would have. The rider was just made with some parts from the plastic High Elf dragon and some love.

@ Disciple of Nagash: I was originally going to use a plastic High Elf wizard kit, but didn't really end up liking the kit. Instead I went with this: the model itself is a wood elf female spellsinger with hands taken from the ghoul sprue, and the face taken from the corpse cart. You cannot really see it in the photo, but the Spellsinger is kind of propped up on a tangled tree root. I took a little green stuff to that tree root to make it look more like smoke, and will likely either paint it in the same blue/teals as the Banshee, or in dark greys to convey a plume of mist. The idea is that she was once an Elven princess of some sort in the days of Aenarion who was assigned a bodyguard from Hoeth, all of whom were destroyed in the battle that resulted in this army.

Should I ever decide to do a second banshee, I think that I'd give roughly the same treatment to the new Dark Elf supreme sorceress model.

the shade of blue goes SO well with the armour!! they look amazing. The glowing green makes a nice contrast to the rest of the models! cant wait to see what else gets done up!
