Frostgrave - Adventures in the Frozen City

Painted halflings - not really happy with these, the faces are too flat and childlike - I struggled with the lack of sculpted definition compared to metal models. I'll come back to these later with some reference photos, hopefully to help me paint that definition onto the right places!

I'd quite like to paint the metal version of this guy now, see if I can do any better. But these conversions (especially the crossbow) would have been much harder on the metal guy, I'm sure...

Nice work on your classic ghouls too, the definition on their muscles make them look really emaciated and hungry for flesh.

Not been back here for a while... I haven't actually played Frostgrave in a year, I think, but like most of my projects now it's not about playing the game!

I picked up a model which I though fitted this project better than my Vampire army, so here we are...

It's a curious offering from Warploque miniatures - in their world, it's a woman pierced with a sword and then thrown into a bog as a ritual sacrifice. I've switched this to make a Frost Spectre instead. Would make a great VC miniature, but for my army concept she'd need to be a bad-ass carrying the sword, not stabbed with it!

Here she is with our hot blooded halfling heroine, Crimson Rita, also from Warploque. She's a little taller than the Stonehaven halflings but I couldn't resist her! I went for an all-warm palette to contrast with the icy wraith.

The three skeletons are more mid 1980s Citadel ones, of course.
