While I'm waiting for the bulk of my force to arrive from Mantic I've got a few bits done and I thought I would share them with you.
here is my general on a hellsteed kit bashed from the bretonian knight on pegasus.

and this is them all dipped and ranked up (i know they skirmish but it looks nice all lined up ready for the kill)

My Spirit host.
A friend who used to play Vampire Counts used 4 models on a 40mm base to represent his spirit host so I borrowed his cunning plan and made these.
It was also a good use for the various bits of armies in my bits box.
I was trying to work out what spirits would look like and I fixed on paler versions of their live selves. I started with a white undercoat and only used inks. I've tryed to make the colours on the bases really strong to add to the washed out apperance. I'm hoping they look like they are emerging from a mist wreathed swamp.

I love the hellstead and the spirit hosts the most. very inventive of you using the old troops as ghosts I would do them a bit more ethreal but that is just my tastes.

But they are a lovely conversion which I find inspiring. They look pale and ghost like in a way how did you acheive the white almost dusting look?

the white dusting is a by-product of the painting ink straight over the undercoat. It just leaves a very matt finish.

A neat side effect to be sure, you inspired me to finish my spirit hosts finally get to make use of my 100 skink bowmen who dont exisit. thanks very much for the inspirition. Hope to show off my results in a day or three.

It would be a novel idea to do some spirit hosts made entirely of obsolete troop types like skink bowmen,I'm sure there must be many others as well.Real :ghost:

I like the look of those spirits! Very eerie, not so much "see through" ethereal, but a somewhat more almost alive look. nice!

Mounted BSB wight king, from the empire general kit. I intend to do water effect for the stream on the base when its painted.

Infantry BSB wight king, the only skulls in my bits box didn't have jaws so i had to GS this. its also had a re pose to stop it looking so static and fit it into the basing a little better.

My GS work isn't great but it will get better with practice. Painted pictures to follow

Love your conversions. The Hellsteed is by far my favourite, both the converting and painting on that are superb. The rest of the ideas are really well implemented as well.
