well the most common way for a male Lhamain is a sister falls in love with a guy and sires him this is a big No-no so she normaly has to go rouge meaning she gets no support from the Sisterhood. however sometimes a guy impresses the Sisterhood and gets sactioned to be sired, he isn't allowed at Silver Pinnicle and isn't concidered part of the Sisterhood its a shitty life being a male Lhamain.

That's pretty much it.

A male Lahmian wouldn't be in the sisterhood apart from being a plaything/slave, since they're a bunch of man hating crazies.

I've never heard of a male being sanctioned but it certainly sounds plausible.

So basically a Sanctioned Siring or sired by an outcast or sired to be toyed with and somehow escapes are all I can think of.

Ah, thanks for the information. That could fit in with the story. Her sire is a rogue vampire and generally well despised outside of his band of ruffians

Also Read your character, and because he (the sire) seems to be doing the same thing as your character is doing: living alone in a city, I can't imagine that he'll be in contact with the sitsterhood a lot, if at all. So from that point of view, makes perfect sense.

Also, check your PM's

Bounce one thing thou, High magic is a collection of all the 8 magic winds, intertwined together. To learn high magic you would first have been taught some mastery in all the 8 basic lores first. As I understand it, magic in this RP is more than the spells from the army book lores. Your basic shield of saphery is a complex battle magic. Your basic high magic spells would be much less powerful spells. Something like using fire to create a small flame projectile, that can only hit one man, maybe sheathed in lightning from the lore of heaves, that gives the bolt a nasty shock too, and maybe increase the speed of the projectile. And in the backwash heat, powers of life have been added to heal some of your allies. Which might still be a bit too powerful for a power/skill of 1 in high magic.

Not saying that you should give up on high magic, but just realise that the lore of high magic in the army books are very complex and powerful combat spells, designed for use on battlefields, and not small skirmishes.
But maybe your knowledge of high magic is obtained by careful observation of how high elf mages in training, and maybe you have read a book or two you weren't suppose to read.
As an example on how powerful high magic is, the warhammer fantasy roleplay system doesn't have rules for high magic, as it is simply that powerfull that anyone knowing it would be extremely overpowered.

My character also have 1 in power and skill with Athel Loren/life. Now I do not believe that make me able to make woods dance to my singing (Treesinging basic wood elf move woods spell). Im thinking more I can get dead flowers to bloom once more, maybe move a vine, heal a not that nasty cut things like that.

All this is ofcourse only my opinion, and the goal of it all, is for us all to have fun and in the end its DoN's word you should worry about, not some random guy like me.

So... I'm wondering what the opinion of making a bretonnian would be from you all? I feel like the questing vow would probably be the best vow to get him out there in the world, but I'd like to hear someone else's opinion about things... I am sadly lacking in real in-depth knowledge of the Warhammer universe, so I may be missing something that would largely prevent him from being RP-able in this vampire-dominate setting.

Well I think its possible, but id suggest you send DoN a pm, so to align your ideas with the setting. Since it would not do, if or when your Knight met a vampire that he simply charged recklessly. Ofcourse if he meets a blood dragon, and he shows promising skills, that blood dragon might grant you eternal life.

A vision from the Lady of the Lake, or maybe it was actually a magical vision cast by a vampire you think was a vision from the Lady of the Lake, could make you seek out the vampire council to offer your sword and shield in the fight against chaos.

Now DoN also talks alot about us making empire characters, im not sure what the setting for those characters would be, and where they stand against vampires and chaos, what there role in the RP is to become. But I would say a Questing knight in the empire wouldn't be that far a stretch.

Seems like a brettoian would fit in pretty well I imagine, the only problem will be the fight and flight reflex that he would get upon seeing vampires. A vampiric brettonian... is that possible?

Just note- I will be fleshing out/modifying Nithek's bio a bit soon, mostly to add more detail to his history. Also, we probably need to think of just how the glorious master race, those handsomely furred rulers of the world, the skaven, are going to get involved with all you vampire types.

Of course, Nithek is always happy to take what he truly deserves- the leader's position of honour at the rear of your forces!

Isn't a vampiric bretonnian basically what the knights of the blood dragon order were after a vampire came? Also, considering the lack of information on the lady of the lake (not so sure about the Fey Enchantress... she is kinda back and forth being public and not in my opinion... though again I'm probably just missing something) having a questing knight confuse a vampire for their goddess (or the physical representation of the goddess) would actually not be too far out there. At least in the beginning... I don't think the bretonnian knights have any way of detecting if the Fey Enchantress (or Lady of the Lake... not sure if she is someone they meet or not...) is really her, or even being able to tell that some of the signs of undeath (other then physically decaying) apart from a being of divine influence. Side note... the grail knights get long lifespans with strange gifts... So I just get the feeling that a vampire could -really- mess with a bretonnian questing knight if they wanted to put up the act...

@Kavok I dunno, possibly.. I was more thinking that the knight was simply seduced, much more explainable and you just need a lahmian.

Do we have an ETA for chapter 1?

I guess that, if he's being optimistic, DoN will take some inspiration from the time gap in the Old World between the TVC and the TVC 2 and estmiate that we might only have to wait ten years before the first chapter. However, this is a very optimistic view, considering that we are dealing with the TVC here!

But seriously :P It'll happen when it happens, I don't think there is an exact ETA

Welcome.. Oh god that avatar's going to start getting annoying very soon :zombie:

Hehe your character looks like a bag of fun though xD

Thank you! I look forward to playing with you all very much. I'll end up changing the avatar probably to my character since Pinkie Pie probably doesn't fit too well in the Are Pee.

Its inappropriate for the entire forum dammit!
...

xD I'll enjoy RP'ing with you. Have anything sideplotty planned?

Hmm looking at your character there's not really we can do in the terms of sideplot, because so little happens in the background story, if you were to expand on that we should be able to find something for you to do.. I don't think DoN's given you the go ahead yet has he?

No, but I didn't want to write too much. I'm the new guy and didn't want to have like a trillion back story things. I figure I'd start out playing a more supportive role as a guard for the other Lahmians or something like that.

Good idea I guess, this your first RP then? There are many others you can join if you like, or are you more vampire fixated? :konrad:

If you have done all DoN has said, then yes, unless you've sent him a sideplot that he hasn't confirmed?

And back after my weekend break xd

Will be checking on the new bio's but I just wanted to say one thing, in case any of you was worrying. Some of the old characters will be brought across from the original TVC, and because they have spent the last 4 years being built up I won't nerf them back to square one; it's a bonus for those players who stuck with it.

That said to make it fair on the new players, there will be the necromantic power drain as previously discussed, and those players will be under strict instructions to use those characters wisely and fairly. If I see anyone going overboard it will be clamped down on.....though in all fairness the older players know how it works and as such I doubt there will be any issues.

To the old players as well; please bear in mind that there is a limit to how strong your characters can get. So the new players have more room to grow, whilst those bringing across existing characters will be limited to how much more powerful you can get.

If anyone would like to change their character after reading this, feel free. Personally I have my "control" character (Rowhaine), and I will be creating a secondary weaker character that I can develop throughout this RP. (Please note new players are limited to one player for the first couple of chapters until they get used to it).

Finally, in regards to the first chapter, I wasn't sure how long to leave it until we started. But then like the last TVC, anybody could join at any point (excluding the last few chapters), so may as well get some things rolling along I suppose. I will plan out the first few chapters and try and get something up by the end of this week; are you all ok with that or is it too soon?
