Right, Morty is not happy! He might accept not being leader, but is he going to sit at the back of the group? NO! It's time to unleash another one of Morty's crazy plans. IC post coming up now...

EDIT: I have posted, and killed all the doomwheels.

I hope there was plenty of esploding!

Just writing up Alastor's first card combat post.. kinda difficult to describe it, but worth a challenge! Did everyone like the flashback?

Erm.. Dread king, it may seem that I have a personal vendetta against, you, which I honestly don't, but considering Morturion was meant to be one of the weaker characters (we had this whole discussion before we started) killing every single doomwheel seems, well a little powerful if you ask me.. I'm sorry I keep on doing this, it just doesn't fit with me..

Finally made my entry into Chapter 2 with a dose of some punchy goodness.

Merry fistmas? :frown: Really?

Worst pun ever...of all time!

To be honest I'm having a hard time imagining how powerful these skaven contraptions are myself :( So I have no idea who hard it would be for vampires or super-necromancers to pwn them.

Just a point, even master magi who have been practicing for thousands of years can screw up and magic is super tiring plus we still have to quell the storm!
T'is why Nekhlior has been pretty low-key so far, he barely even used magic (just counters and simple strikes) when fighting the Bright Wizard!

Merry fitsmas... *throws up* that's hit my worst pressure point yet.

Is everyone alright with me doing some serious damage to the warp cannons? I'll delay my post to wait for a reply yet.

Yeah, it seems this is too easy for all involved. Perhaps the Skaven artillery can even the odds. On the table top, a Doom Wheel would rip apart a Master Necromancer in combat, and would probably give a Vamp Lord a run for its money on the charge. Taking out a vast swathe of them in one blow would be pretty difficult.

But that is the point of this little battle, it helps people who don't have as much experience RPing to gauge what characters can and can't do.

Well, I've been trying to keep what Markus does small in the grand scheme of things .. A couple of men here, a few skaven there ...

Ummm....these aren't just vamps and necros, Raven Lord. I thought the whole idea behind the TVC was that the vamps were way more powerful than your standard tabletop vamp lord. After all, some of the characters were flattening mountains at only 10, something that is seen on mere greater daemons (it sounds self-contradictory, but they are mere compared to half the TVC characters) and if you look closely at Morty's bio, you can see his magic and armour makes up for his mediocre combat skills.

I just assumed after Dieter took out 5 easily that Morty could pull off a crazy trick. After all, from Get's description of them, they were rather small doomwheels (maybe they come in varying sizes?) There weren't that many doomwheels left after Dieter smashed half of them, and Morty never took them on in close combat, just led them round in circles. Skaven machinery can get rather faulty at times, and rats don't exactly get driving licenses; it was partly their bad driving that Morty was counting on to destroy them.

But I'll edit the post to make it look a little harder for Morty to pull off his trick. Oh yeah, and about the warp cannons, no one has noticed the volley of warpstone flying towards the vampires. They just have completely blanked the skaven's shots. On a serious note, I might even post again later tonight, but this is going to be a very busy real life week for me, I'm afraid.

EDIT: Lucy, remember, it's not just warp lightning cannons, it's all manner of skaven artillery up there. xD

Lucifer, before you post, read my last one, igor kills the cannons on the hill (this is basically the easiest thing for him to do, assassinate crew members of a war machine)but there are more coming his way. You can mess those up pretty good. And yeah, I didn't have a problem with morty making the wheels hit each other, as he just was smarter than them, not better in combat.

I just noticed hidden one's post, thanks for reminding us about the cannons. xD

Morty is nowhere near that level of awesome; I mean, look at some of the characters at the end of the RP! Morty is not flattening mountains, all he did was blow up a few doomwheels. I'll try and make that look harder; I don't want to be a stupid RPer. I'll even delete the post if everyone hates it.

WOT? I never posted anything about fighting Doomwheels...

All I did with Dieter was take out the Bell using Mort's clever device and since then killing standard Skaven Slave, the odd Stormvermin and those weird Skaven riflemen.

I havn't had him kill anything bigger!

And Nekhlior, more powerful that tabletop stats can represent magically really, has only killed an elderly Bright Wizard (by snapping his neck) and a few skavenslaves

The bell was fun blowing up because it was hard :)

So how strong are those Skaven contraptions anyway?

Also I didn't describe the Doomwheels...Dieter avoided them and just continued dealing with the infantry.

On a side note, I think this battle is maybe progressing too quickly. A threat is revealed, then dealt with in a few posts. Perhaps one of the originals (looking at GoW and Todd) would like RP the Skaven forces, and give us a guidance as to when the plot of the battle will move on. I would do it, but I'm aware I am already kind of in charge of the Council's forces.

This way, everyone will get a chance to fight some of the harder stuff, and we can get used to working as a team. Without DoN and Simon, we need a couple of strong hands on the tiller to stop people getting over excited. Plus, it means we can be reacting to the battle that is going on, rather than it reacting to us.

What does everyone think?

I think you hit the spot there. I think the problem is less with how powerful everyone is ( I did go a bit over the top sorry Dread  ) and more how fast we kill everything. For example, human army was decimated so so fast, then the skaven have already lost quite a lot of doom wheels, artillery and a hellpit abomination.

If we restrict the final KO's to the experienced members then we can beat up to our hearts content and the flow of the battle seems good.

I would but since I've got Nekhlior and Dieter plus I'm going to post with Karl every so often (he has to respond to Marcus's human still) I think it'd be best if I didn't...besides I'm extremely unfamiliar with Skaven weaponry.

Edit: When Sanai starts posting with his Skaven, it would make sense for him to command alot of those forces right?
