Unless anyone has any objections, I'll bring The Wastes to a close and give us something to do until DoN gets back. Rather than skipping the en-route to the camp, I'll set us a scenario that'll involve a mixture of thinking/cooperation and a skirmish to finish. Sound good?

I can understand wanting to move the story forwards, but I got the impression that DoN had something more planned for the chapter; something to do with the huge Chaos army camp and the fact that the main antagonist is down there ...

Not trying to sound insulting, but a wolf looking at a vampire's cleavage doesn't make riveting reading :boring:
All right then, but the longer we wait the more members pack up and leave. I didn't mean to trample on the main story, just wanted something for everyone to post about and get back in-character for before DoN comes back.

As am I. It's a pity DoN has been so busy. I would think that if he gave someone the entire plot that he had planned we could at least continue on in his absecne.. but I swear Bishop was for that reason o_o
TVC is DoN's unholy baby, we can't usurp him from it entirely. But moments like these are why we tried to suggest mini-GMs, to approve characters and to move the story onward at least within the chapter (them having been given just the next chapter's plot in case of absence) until DoN can get back. Nothing we can do now anyway!
DoN is likely on holiday (he has a family). This means he'll probably return in a few weeks. I'm here today and tomorrow, then I'm gone until the Saturday after next. What's happening now is a simple holiday lull.
I don't think chapter 5 should be ended as its barely started. Work could be done, however, on SUBPLOT STORYLINES - note the subplot involving Marie and Alastor is still not finished, nor the one involving Esmeralda and Simon. Work could also be done on chapter 4 - in my opinion, Mikhail, wolfy acting stupid would be funny (wolfy doing almost anything is funny, actually) and that, along with Sylive and Alastor's conversation, would allow players to at least maintain a small interest in the TVC II. Furthermore, perhaps wolfy, alastor and sylvie's actions would cause comments/other reactions from the other members of the group in chapter 4. Nothing really much can be done, though, just a bit of improvisation.
Oh, and we could deal with Harland's food post in the past tense. How we might do this:
- Character A remembers meal. Flashback.
- Harland writes an IC food post in the OOC thread without godmodding. Everyone suggests how their character might react, perhaps we even write our own characters' reactions.
- Harland edits them in. Eventually a final edit is made.
- Harland posts the post in its final form in the IC thread.
This would maintain some degreee of RP activity in DoN's absence for some time. I'm hoping it's only a matter of weeks, because it's been six months since I sent my last subplot email to DoN, and I still haven't got a reply. My subplot may be going down the drain, despite the fact that, as it's very major for Morty, I'm shaping his actions around it.
Edit: curses, ninja'd! And Mal, yes Simon is the second GM, but he's also busy. I think it's pretty certain that we DO need mini-GMs who are informed of what's happening in most of the chapter that's being worked on at the time - they should also be allowed to GM characters if their RPers are inactive.
And as for OOC activity, I would love to get some feedback on how I'm RPing Morty and Defiance in the Feedback thread.
And, Ordo Cruentus, welcome to the TVC II! It can be quite fabulous when it gets going. Simon, as well as DoN, can accept sign-ups, and others might be able to in the future - but those two are the only ones right now.

True I Marie and Alastor's thing needs to get going again.
As for Chapter 5 I agree that there's little we can do.
I feel chapter 4 shall stalled to for the simple fact that any amount of activities without the input of the Lahmian who we've met up with, who is basically representing the masters of this territory. It'd seem pretty stupid to me to have a few pages of actions with the Lahmian just watching quietly, but maybe that's just me.
But I guess things are hardly ideal atm with DoN's inability to post due to RL.
As for Simon I am almost 100% certain that he would be unable to further the storylines, that was never his purpose. I think he was to GM a segment of the story around the von Carsteins perhaps and also to give the OK to new players but he knows as little about the continuation of a lot of the story as the rest of us (Apart from the parts some of us may have been let in on). Mind you this info is from a conversation I vaguely recall a LONG LONG time ago.
I like that post about the dinner we missed out on, could we possible do a chapter.... 3.5? And have it set with us all having the dinner Harland had planned?
Yeah, the cooking post would be much better as a group-based subplot...we'd need Harland, though. Should we PM him? He may be on holiday, though.
Simon was more involved in TVC I, this time DoN has kept the plot secret. But Simon too is a busy person.
