Hello,

I am planning to buy some movement trays from Shogun Miniatures

I am just wondering what movement trays are the most common that I will need for my army. I am very new to the game, and VC in general, so I don't know 100% what base sizes I should need.

Here is what I think, please let me know if I am missing a common size or anything:

100mmx100mm (5x5)
100mmx60mm (5x3)
200mmx80mm (10x4)

125mmx50mm (cav 5x1)
125mmx100mm (cav 5x2)

120mmx80mm (monster 3x2)

Any other base sizes I should consider?

Also, do you think if I am going to be Magnetizing my figures, would flanges or flat be a better choice of tray?

I've got a metric ton of trays for this guy and I love them. I'd go flanged unless you have the plastic GW trays made up, or your own, that you want to add a metal sheet to. Otherwise the flanged are good and you are done.

I'd go with flanged trays, they are much more practical- your models don't slide around everywhere and the slight fold at the front makes them much easier to slide about on the table.

your selections seem pretty good.

I myself have trays in 5x4 and 5x2. Having just those two allows you to achieve a whole bunch of size combinations by turning some of the trays sideways, although it does mean you'll have a cavalry model standing beside the tray. I picked these combinations mostly so that i wouldn't need to have mountains of trays each for one unit in particular. As i change up my army list frequently the flexibility is nice.
