I second the discount idea! It'd give GW some very good sales, I assure you. How many people are here, and would pay for GW stuff if it was somewhat manageable in price?

I worked for GW for 3 years, first 2 as a full timer in the Middlesbrough store, then a year as manager in Northampton... First 2 years were great... Then managing a store with all the monthly targets and the pressure to sell sell sell was horrible... But that was 1998, so maybe it's different now. Back then the staff discount was 50% off anything in store, and via the factory you paid for the models lead/ white metal weight which meant one figure was about 20p lol... As you can imagine I had loads of armies :|
Back then the net was just starting really and ebay wasn't really known very well... I'd have a field day now, buying loads of stuff 50% off then popping it all on ebay lol... ahem... Moving on...

sadly i didnt get the job i had a phone interview at 9AM and my interviewer sounded hung over lol. :lol: and he didnt seem impressed at the fact i told him i mainly play necromunder, blood bowl, inquisitor, talisman, quest ect he said "well you do realize you have to promote the main 3 games"

But, he is right. The 3 games are the ONLY 3 they are at all concerned with their employees having knowledge of.

Necromunda, Blood Bowl, Inquisitor, and Talisman have next to no relation whatsoever to in-store items, etc.
Maybe you should've left that part out , grabbed all 3 rulebooks and studied up.

In his thinking/"interviewing point of view" I think you basically told him that you supported the purchases of games OTHER than GW products.

lol well i was asked what games i played. i listed off all the GW games i played and only them. and how long i had been playing lol. i listed off all the rule books i had bought for 40k (far to many) and he was all like uh huh. but you play specalist games... :O.

Shame to hear that you didn't get the job. I would say getting a job there is selling your soul and evil, but
1# I went to a GW recently (they hard to get to in western australia) and it had a really nice atmosphere and friendly people.
2# I would do anything for a job anywhere, so I cannot talk. Really, anything.

Anyways, I am sure you will get a cooler job. Or at least a less evil one.

well i have an interview on monday which is going to mean a 7 hour train ride to the location of said interview :/ fun for me.


£22000 a year this one pays ive also managed to sort out a tempory flat in brighton for 2 months for free bonus
