Hail, all.

After years of resistance, I'm a new convert to the the evil empire that is WHFB - just in time to get caught in the Limbo between 7E and 8E. I am quite familiar with the Old World fluff from WFRP and Warmaster, though.

Currently, I'm working on the pile of unpainted Lizzies staring at me as I type this. I haven't painted a mini larger than 10mm in an eon or two.

Once the Lizzies are done, I was considering VC skeletal horde, but the price hikes on skellies and ghouls (25%!!!) just announced have me leaning towards DE. I'm open to just about any of the armies except Daemons - never should have been split from the Hordes.

Any one in Korea, feel free to give a shout. or you might catch me on weekends at Orctown in Hongdae.

The announced increase in the price of GW's wares is an unwelcome sight indeed, but I urge you to look into the models provided by Mantic Games, which we're affiliated with here at CN. They sell quality Ghoul and Skeleton models that can be used in your army at about 50% of GW's current prices. Disciple of Nagash received some sample miniatures from Mantic and posted a review of them when compared to GW's models here in This Thread.

I hope you decide to hang around here whichever way you decide to go with your next WHFB army. There's something here for any and all Warhammer players.

The Lizzies will keep me occupied for the foreseeable future, but VC, DE, and Empire (another army with vicious core unit price hikes) are definitely exerting a pull. Of all the fluff-oriented matchups out there, a big VC/Empire clash seems the most operatic. Just need to figure out how to summon an appropriately epic thunderstorm over the table while the game is going on.

I did check out the Mantic review here after posting my intro. They are a definite consideration now that I've actually seen a few pics of the models.

Between my unpainted Lizzies and the impending arrival of 8E, any decisions on where to go with things after I get caught up on my painting will have to wait. That said, I'll definitely be around; this board and druchii.net have an absolute ton of tactical advice for a beginner like myself to absorb. Whatever else you want to say about VC and DE players, they are thorough.
