"No chance of that," Ral said, calmly and quietly, over the vox, "I've altered the signals of the squad, and got a tape of static playing in the previous channel. It should take them a while to find the new channel... sir..."

He walked over to the fuel tank, and crouched, fiddling with the handset in a mindless way. His free hand reached up and touched the black and orange band on his left arm, before drawing his replacement shotgun from his side.

Lennie acknowledged the confirmatory tap by murmuring 'Reckon you can keep up?' He shot the loader a smirk before gritting his teeth and closing one eye to lock his aim firmly on the opposite door.

As Fence slowly came to the end of his song, He frowned into the mists.
"Come on!" he grumbled at the silent mists, "I've already finished an Epic 'bout emotional strife and valiant heroism and you still haven't come out o' that god damn door! Now get out here soes I can shoot you in the god damn face!"

His squad's whispers of a meticulous plan reacged Fence's ears. Apparently we had to go get the flag.
So let's go get it.
"LEEROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOY JEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEENNNNKIIIIIIINS!"

Fence moves to D13

Ratte crawled forward a pace or two to adjust his position.

"Looks like they aren't coming. I'll keep my eyes...peeled." He said over the vox, just as he felt a leftover vegetable peeler in his pockets while adjusting his body. The irony was not lost on him, and he muttered "YEEAAAAHH" under his breath.

Ratte moves to J11

Hastus' eyes widened when he saw the demolitions expert charge forward. On the one hand he applauded that somebody who messed around with explosives had the tendency to run forward -out of HIS range- but it also meant that if something happened he had to go forward as well...or at least if there were still enough pieces left.
He hoped that Fence was a little more careful in real combat situations.

"Throne almighty" Hastus muttered under his breath but he couldn't help suppress a small chuckle that followed.

Seeing Fence running past him, Deadmeat quickly sprang forward, covering the specialist's advance. He took cover at the corner of the doorway. Trying to remember where he had heard Fence's battlescream before. Then he remembered. His eyes narrowed as he wathed Fence's advance.

"Now that's interesting. We will need to talk a bit about that later on. I've got your back now, though. Don't mess this up."

Then Deadmeat peeks around the corner and readies a flashbang grenade.

Deadmeat moves to square C 15

Fence laughed as several beams of light hit him like nothing more than laser pointers (except less powerful - everyone knows laser pointers can be dangerous if they hit you in the eye). He could see four gardsman crowded behind the doorway. Perfect. He ground to halt in front of them, and drew one of his flashbangs from his belt. Let's see what happens...

Sledgehammer saw Fence and Deadmeat charge forth, surprised a bit by their impromptu assault. Reacting quickly, he moved in behind them and radioed the Sergeant:

"Sarge, Specialist Snare has moved in and is taking fire. I'll cover him."

Sledgehammer moves to F11

The backwash of the illumination from the opposing Guardsmen engaging the crazy demolitions man revealed their positions.

"Nahum, two on your blind spot." Ratte voxed as he peered down his iron sights. One of the those two looked familiar. Not only was that man unappreciative of the culinary efforts of the Ratlings in general, he had even managed to get away with beating up one of his mates. He would soon find that offending a Ratling was bad for your chow...or your crotch, as Ratte adjusted his aim to an iota below the belt.

Taking a breath to steady his hand, Ratte pulled the trigger. The substitute rifle bucked in his shoulder, and a staccato crack split the air. A malicious grin split his mouth as his victim keeled over immediately, the pain of a slug to the scrotum incapacitating him.

"Scratch one."

Ratte fires on G2(Rending wound)

Hodges registers the two men charging forwards with a smile. At least he wasn't in a squad of cowards.

Without so much as a look to his loader, Hodges gets up and redeploys in front of the tank. As he adopts firing stance again, he looks into the mist wreathed room opposite and grins. ' Hey Leroy, might want to get clear' he shouts to the guy standing by the doorway

The flashbang soared through the air in a graceful arc. It's slowly spinning, irregularly elliptical shape twisting like a balerina with a grenade shoved down her throat.
It exploded immediately on impact, causing an incredibly loud bang and, well, an incredibly bright flash. The guardsmen yelled a clapped their hands to their ears, a couple of them stumbling to the floor.

Hearing the voice of the missile guy, Fence (or 'Leroy' as he seemed to be called now) grinned and dived to his left.
"They won't be getting outta the way any time soon," he yelled over his shoulder. "And by that I mean fire now!"

Fence dives over to D11. If I can't do thi due to AP deficiency, I simply fall flat on my stomach.

Caener looked at his scanner and saw the layout of the enemies ahead, they were simply waiting for them to walk in.  Caener was already thing up a plan, his eyes darting around as he frowned,  someone could throw an 'intimidating' (which is the best they will do, intimidate) stun in, to scatter the enemies and hopefully buy someone else to throw a second stun to keep them scattered so the squad doesn't have to fight too many at the same time.  He did a quick number crunch.  After trying to think of all the variables he have up.  32.33 recurring percent chance of perfect completion he said to hinself sarcastically, what did it matter anyway, it was just training.  Suddenly, mid-thought, he heard an almighty shout as some of the squad just ran straight into the next room!  This may be training, but this is suicide.  Caener hoped that the squad would take their own health more seriously when in the real thing.   Caener adjusted the plan as necessary and sprinted forwards.

Ok, stick to the plan, stick to the plan he thought running forwards.  As he ran he shouted his order of many, hearing it being frantically repeated over the vox-caster.

"Move, move move!!!"

Caener moves to I16, and orders "move move move"

Runner ran after Hodges, shaking his head slightly at those guys just running up to the next round, apparently believing themselves immortal. Wondered how the sergeant would react to it, usually the smart thing to do, would have to wait for orders. But somehow they hadn't been shot at right away, and from the shooting and noises it did seem they had allready engaged a few enemies.
The next thing happening was the sergeant yelling move move move, Runner couldn't help think move where, but he just kept ready to follow Hodges whereever he would bring the Tube.

Two of the guardsmen fell, one of them clutching his groin area in agony, the other stunned into insensibility by the blinding flash of Fence's Flashbang. The other guardsman caught in the flashbang's blast clutches his ears in pain, momentarily stunned. The fourth guardsman of the door team, about to let rip with a burst of fire into the attacking squad, cocks his head, obviously hearing something over the vox bead in his ear. The guardsman turned and ran further into the defended room, the smoke obscuring his retreating form.

Hodges watched as the remaining member of the door team melts away into the fog. Still holding his missile launcher up, he spoke over the vox. 'Door clear, heavy weapon in firing position awaiting orders.'

Deadmeat tossed the flashbang around the corner where he took cover. Then he looked what the rest of the squad was doing. Sarge had passed orders to move forward but as he was spearheading the formation already, he thought it was better to stay put.

He voiced over the vox:

"Enemy contact, they're falling back. Nahum awaiting orders, sarge."

"Did someone mention an opposing heavy bolter?" Ratte asked over the vox. Now that the last of the four opposing Guardsmen originally defending the entryway had retreated, the training ground had temporarily quietened down somewhat. The fog prevented him from seeing anything much of the next room, so he had no targets at all.

"Hey Lang, up for tag teaming the heavy bolter? Can someone please bait them into opening fire? I can't see shit." Ratte voxed before he took a bite into his capsicum, the sound of chewing clearly audible over the channel.

"Sarge, I think a full frontal assault could take them off-guard. They seem to fall like leaves even if you fart in their general direction. Nahum ready to go in on your command."

Deadmeat checks his shotgun one more time while waiting for the rest of the squad to get in position.

"Ratte, I'll be your eyes soon enough. Does Sledge care to tag along?"

Lang listened to the chatter over the vox. Hearing Ratte's suggestion, he voxed back "Sounds like a plan. I'm moving up for a better angle."

Keeping close to the fuel tank, Jacob stalked around to it's north face. He kept both his attention and the barrel of his long-las, firmly focused on the short corridor & the room beyond. They'd managed to take down the first line of defense, however it was clear from the vox traffic they'd intercepted so far, that things were only going to get more difficult from here on in.

Sledge ran into position to the side of the doorway, taking cover from any shots that might be fired out through the fog.

"I'll make the frontal assault too. Although my armor's no good against heavy bolter slugs. We'll have to hope there's some kind of cover to move into. Otherwise we won't last long against all that enemy fire."

He stood at the ready, preparing to follow his squad mates into the breach.
