Gunhearts: Invasion OOC Thread

  • The masquerade of murder returns! A new game of Vampires Amongst Us has begun. Unmask the killers, trust no one, and try to survive the night. Find out more and sign up now!
I'm sticking close to the Sarge, as long as he stays kind of in the middle of things but if anyone needs laspistol-ish cover for some suicide maneuver barrel-roll action let me know.

Since it doesn't seem as though anyone else is going to act this turn (and if they are, I can wait), so Ral will walk six squares around the tank, crouch and intercept vox signals again, just to see if I can squeeze a little more info before the attack.

What has probably happened is that Sanai has left us to do our own thing for a bit, not realizing that we need the next map thing. Perhaps he thought he posted it?

Don't worry. I'll just sit back and listen to the latest Imperial News on the vox.

Hmm... hmm... Hmm... hmm... Hmm- hmmhmm hmm hmm Hmm.

IBC Vox Show 5!
This is the news at ten. Chaotic forces have been beaten back from Cadia yet again, our correspondant Justin is on the ground.

***Hello there***
Hey Justin! So how is the battleground?
***It's pretty hectic right now, some of our heavy tanks have been beaten badly and gas masks have been issued but the heretics have been beaten back pretty heavily.***
And how did the Cadians get on?
***They did what they've done since they were kids, and just blew the enemy away.***
Thank you Justin. In the studio with me is Inquisitor Paradoxius. Tell me Inquisitor, how do you feel the battle will affect the war with chaos?
Chaos can be defeated through belief in the Emperor. All heretics must be purged.
Very good. Can you tell me more about how your department in particular has been aiding the war effort on Cadia?
We execute traitors who would not die for the Emperor. We root out the conspiracies that lurk amongst the traitors in our midst
And we are safer in our bunks because of it. That's all for now, until next week!

The interview with the inquisitor would have more likely been:

How do you feel the battle will affect the war with chaos?
Purge the Heretic.
Right... Can you tell me more about how your department in particular has been aiding the war effort on Cadia?
Purge the Heretic.
Okay... so, um... how many heretics have you purged lately?
Are you a Heretic?
What? ... No!
Only a Heretic would deny being a Heretic.
That doesn't even make sense!
Purge the Heretic.
Stop! I'm not a Heretic!
You Lie like a Heretic.
No! Stop! AAAAAAAAARGH!Loasiefdlbgjndflk.....
Purge the Heretic.

Okay, have made the aforementioned tactical thread. All rules, maps and actions should be posted there instead of in here. (And all the OOC chatter in here please, so the other thread is easy for me to go through to find all of the actions players post)

Very nice, Sanai. I believe everyone is ready to get the next turn going on, there's been plenty of time to act now.

Well before the next turn, I guess that the enemy must have their action phase first?

@Archivist remember there is no suppression mechanic in this game, so all of us blindfiring wont help, I mean I don't even know this works with the rules, Sanai?

Well just because suppression fire doesn't exists in the rules, doesn't mean we shouldn't roleplay it. Because if we just powergame it, we would in turn just charge in, shoot at what ever target we are presented with, we have two wounds, so can take plenty of beatings before we would be down.

And I don't really see the fun in that RP wise.

I like the bit about charging in.

But there's a heavy Bolter and four other people, we'll just get smashed, unless we're super beardy and kill all of them before they get their action phase

Really good to see there's a bit of lull in the RP-ing. Was afraid to log in and having missed over a week of stuff!

As for the in game situation; is there no way we can distract them some way? Maybe even toss one of those drum barrels into the mist? Sounds better than charging in IMO...xD

A great idea! How about Harland rigging the barrel with explosives first? We send it rolling forwards, towards the U-formation. If they shoot it, they reveal their location. If they don't shoot it...

*boom*
