Yes, and it is Warhammer as GW decided it to be now. Again, your interpretation or wishes are irrelevant. This is now Warhammer Fantasy, like it or not. It is Warhammer and has the same lore, matter of fact, its the continuation of the timeline after the End Times, which preluded the destruction of the world as we knew it.

So this forum should have hundreds of subforums on equal footing as with what it all started with and is meant to support? Sorry but i dont agree. It is very clear that this forum is pretty much centered on anything Warhammer with a focus on the Vampire/Undead part of it. Hell, the name of the owner isnt suggesting anything else; Disciple of Nagash....
We can all agree to giving a place to other systems since were all gamers and why the hell not. But it sure isnt on equal footing, it would just very much depend on the amount of visitors. Why should KoW have a subforum and not warthrone or starwars.... Thats debates without end. It really has no place on vampirecounts.net.
It takes a single look at the disclaimer at the bottom of the main page to notice what this forum is intended for: GW.

KoW etc, it would be subthreads in a subforum titled: 'Other gamesystems' with each gamesystem having its according thread.

Warhammer: Age of Sigmar is as much Warhammer: Fantasy Battles as Mordheim, Warmaster, or Dreadfleet. Save that you can use the same models, it bears no resemblance to the game this community built up around.

And while this community was built around WHFB: Vampire Counts, it's pretty clear that this is no longer enough to keep a large portion of the community together. A great many people want nothing to do with Age of Sigmar. The game we were passionate about is dead, and we need a new game now (preferably one that uses our existing minis).

So why does that suddenly mean that we're no longer welcome on this forum? Because you dictate it? You're very clearly in the minority here, and I don't see why you think your opinion matters so much more than everyone else's.

In any event, it's good that you're done here. Especially since this conversation seems to pretty much be settled. There is interest in continuing this community, and expanding its form to include all things undead (or, more specifically, all things that we might use our existing Undead models for).

The existing forums should probably be renamed to "WHFB VIII," and contain discussion of however those so-inclined choose to keep this game alive and fresh. Then we should have new sections opened for Age of Sigmar and Kings of War, structured in the same manner (save that Age of Sigmar doesn't need an Army Building section).

All in favour, say 'Aye.'

I have to say I think the best way to reunite the community in terms of forum discussions is to properly separate the games into sections on the forum. I also play lizardmen and lustria online have a section with all the same subsections for AOS and Warhammer separately. I think this works so much better because the discussions seem to flow better because everyone know where they stand and what everyone is talking about. If you want to discuss 8th ed tactics you know exactly where to go and everyone there is on the same page, and it doesn’t descend into a which game to play debates as everyone is talking about the same thing.
I think that would certainly help heal the community as everyone would feel they know where they discussion fits it, it certainly feels like that on Lustria Online :)

So thats an Aye from me

I'm partial to multiple sub-forums for AoS, 8th, and KoW, so Aye.

Though I wouldn't mind an additional sub-forum for any other suitable fantasy game in which we can use our lovely models of recently and not-so-recently deceased warriors. After all, there are several. And it could be a nice place to stick our Mordheim material as well.

And to be honest, overall, I come here for Undead goodness of the Vampire Counts flavor (Even though I personally am not a huge vampire fan. I came to Warhammer Armies: Undead, thanks to Army of Darkness. I followed over to Vampire Counts during the great Undead sundering of 5th Edition because that's where my Necromancers went) not necessarily for the game in which they appear. To me, Vampire Counts are defined by the fluff under which I play, and the models I use - not necessarily the rules that I play with.

Can I fit VC in AoS? Yes. WH8th? Yarp. KoW? Why not? Hail Caesar? Of course! Any fantasy battles game I haven't mentioned that has "traditional" style undead? Uh huh.

My army is led by an immortal noble, who just happens to have to drink blood to remain powerful. And has incredible magic powers to boot. That to me, is the essence of VampireCounts.Net

What game we play is less important that how we play it.

(To be fair, though, *My* army is led by a wizard who seeks power and immortality so as to not be beholden to any one that calls themselves a "god"... And then Nagash happened.)

Nagash is the alpha and the omega ;) Our beginning and our end... He always was the Great Necromancer and even while he was dead he was guiding the undead armies through various Tomes, Artifacts and loyal followers (whether they realized it or not). The events leading up to his resurrection where entirely through him manipulating the undead and some men and elves too.

Interesting, Abhorash didn't seem to answer the call during End Times! Unless you buy that Abhorash was Walach Harkon, I don't know any reason why he couldn't be.

Ah. Then I have some catching up to do! ET Khaine and expense put me off, silly thing is I actually have a copy now and I haven't read it!

Well that answers one question anyway; I wonder how many proteges Abhorash lost to Khorne?

It happened in one of the two Archaon novels, either Archaon or Lord of the end times. I don't believe they are available any longer
